The fadeout actually goes right into the next song, happens a lot on this album where they have different instrumentals in between songs, but this song hits about the same for me, I don't particularly love it but I don't hate it, like parts of it but not others. Cheers!

I've been a thrice fan for a long time since those days in 2003 2004, I didn't know they released that album, I just listened to it, wow!! Everything is better: the vocals are better, the guitar tone is better, drums are more intentional, songs are slowed down, this recording is freaking amazing, It's like I'm hearing these songs for the first time again ☺️💯👏🏼 bravo

Great album. Not my personal favorite song off of it, but great song all the same and it has all of that classic Thrice rhythm. If it helps parse the lyrics at all, a paper tiger is something that appears threatening, but is in reality weak. Overall, I think the gist is that those in power (be it religion or government) will try to cast down false fearfulness from their palaces on high, but really those things they want us to fear are just manufactured ploys (paper tigers) to sow chaos and keep us at each others throats so they can maintain power through that fake fear.

It is definitely one of the harder songs. To me it doesn't scratch the surface of their versatility in songwriting. I feel like the outro was definitely the resolve to the chaos. You must listen to more to appreciate the level they're on.

Kinda disappointed you didn't comment on the guitar really let alone the wicked bass riff that does a lot to drive the song. Ive lived a lot of my life with thrice and it may be that youre missing a lot from their songs because it's the first listen.
