@@shepshape2585 actually I disagree. Pog has been riding hard while Ganna more rested, Also Ganna specializes in flatter time trials Pog would have no chance sorry., Lets not forget who holds the World hour record. ; ) He has the highest power numbers in time trial history he is a BEAST!! yes he does suffer in time trials with hills but flat he is untouchable right now. Pog is great but not the greatest at everything just like sprinting flat TT's are for the specialists. That is the beauty of cycling certain riders will dominate certain races.

@@lucianoserafino5872 Disagree all you want. Perhaps you didn’t see the first time trial when Pog smoked Ganna because it mattered. Today didn’t matter, plus tomorrow is the hardest stage of the race. I don’t care if the course is hilly or flat or in outer space, Tadej has the best legs in the world. The only reason Pog doesn’t have the hour record is because he’s never tried it. Why would he? He wants yellow jerseys, not silly records.

@@shepshape2585 Pog was racing against the GC contenders, not Ganna, so his priority was not winning the stage. But it's foolish to think that he gave the stage away to Ganna, because winning the TT would automatically put more time between Pog and his rivals. In the end, I think Pog was pleased with the outcome. That being said, Pog not coming in first was likely the result of a flat TT favoring Ganna, in addition to Ganna pushing himself and Pog letting up a bit over the second half of the route. Pog was up on Ganna by a few seconds at the first time check due to a short climb that favors Pog, but the rest of the TT was Ganna's specialty. Pog lost time over that stretch. His team car was also likely giving him time checks and letting him know he was safely up on his GC rivals, so he didn't need to ride aggressively. Even with the stage favoring Ganna and Pog not pushing himself too hard, he still almost won. If this has been the last stage of the race, Pog would have likely pushed himself harder. In that case, I would put his odds of beating Ganna at more than 50%.

The "programs" these lads are on are so advanced it's incredible. The most important thing is to have the right Dr to show you how to NOT get caught!! Probably MORE important than the juice itself. That knowledge is priceless!! ALSO, the riders bio passport is a GREAT tool the Drs and riders use to keep within "normal" parameters. It's HELPING them dope😂 🤘🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@@Freeedy I'm hearing Pogi may be sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber. I'm not sure this is currently true but if I'm not mistaken he WAS doing this. That is not allowed by UCI I believe. It is a GREAT way of doping. It raises your red blood cell count and the way you get around that on your bio passport and the testing is to say you just got back from altitude training and a few other ways. There's so many different ways to get away with this. Others just won't do the research but will call everyone a liar when they speak about it. People want to think they know everything and if their favourite rider is being suspected, they attack those that have done the research. I'm still learning about it. A personally bittersweet time trial. I think that a rider with Pipo Ganna's potential has the conditions to do more than just win times. Last season he was 2nd in San Remo, 6th in Paris-Roubaix and won the La Vuelta time trial defeating Remco and Roglič. The difference between Los Slovenos, Vingegaard, and Remco is that they are good in the time trial and fight for the general classification. They have much more merit. This year Pipo did not appear at Los Monumento and he is not a one and three week runner either. For me he could be a Domoulin 2.0... TT World Champion, Giro Winner, 2nd in the Tour. I hope Felipe Martínez, Ben O'Connor, Antonio Tiberi, Filipo Zanna beat "G" Thomas in Livigno tomorrow because I have not liked at all since the Prati di Tivo stage the psychological game that the Welshman has played against Tadej Pogačar and his supposed enmity with the platoon. Rog is a joke. He's at Geraint's level right now-old, slow, capable of decent performances but nowhere near as good as he was a few years ago when Pog crushed him in the TDF. He's a domestique, nothing more. Ving is not going to be 100% if he even enters the TDF. He's missed out on weeks of training and his injuries will make him more cautious. If I were his team leader I would hold him back for the Vuelta, where he might at least be competitive. Wout is aging like Rog, and he was never a GC contender to begin with. He's good at a lot of things but doesn't excel at any of them now, especially compared to the young specialists and all-rounders making their marks. There's literally only one stage profile he can possibly win (moderate mountain with a flat finish, relying on sprinters falling off during the climbs) and those aren't very common. Pog has only grown stronger and more disciplined, with higher stamina. Pog isn't wasting energy grabbing bonus seconds here and there anymore, which was really his last weakness to overcome.

Thomas lost by over 1 min, he is NOT right up there although he did finish near the front!

G is not up to where he once was but even if he was he couldn't match Gannas numbers. Ganna is the best TT'ist in the world right now 🤘🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Why two individual TT this year? The most boring Giro in years.

those little ferrings under the eyes are to deflect the air flow from the legs. The legs cause the most resistance against the wind. It's not even the head funnily enough 🤘🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

So dumb to put boring time trial on weekend schedule when most have free day to watch complete stages .

You know what's boring? Mountain stages where the finish is entirely predictable. At least TTs mix things up a bit. Glad to see GT make up enough time to move into second place on the podium.

Not to take anything away from Ganna, but Tadej rode that stage very smart. He could have won this stage, but tomorrow is the hardest stage in the race and why burn your legs out prior to that? He still managed to put more distance between himself and Thomas and Martinez, and they have no chance of catching him.

Seems to me he started soft pedaling in the second half to "allow" Ganna the win. Heard the pressure on them to let other teams get some of the crumbs.

@@oldtwinsna8347 If you have a chance to win, you take it. No professional cycling team is in the habit of letting other teams get "crumbs" just for the sake of being nice. Victories mean sponsorships which means $$$, and nobody is going to just throw money away like that. Pog was instructed to rest. Not to let Ganna win, but to give Pog a better chance of winning tomorrow with fresh legs. Why push yourself into the red for a few seconds in a TT if that puts you at risk for losing minutes on a brutal stage the next day? It was a smart choice by UAE-and even while resting his legs, Pog almost won.

I've researched HOW they are doping and how the testing protocols are flawed and it's not hard to figure out. Plus there are new ways to circumvent the testing and new formulas. They are getting away with it FOR NOW!!!😉 🤘🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
