I'm a student from Hong Kong (early 16s) and I have a passion for being a commercial pilot. Base in my country, I need to complete a theory course in order to start my flight training in Australia (Adelaide). I have no problem with that. But unfortunate, not many students will take part in the theory course. So the class is maybe canceled. If so, what should I do or where should I go for the theory course?

Pett Miguel bro. I am from HK too. For your theory, you can do self study. The FAA’s PHAK and AFH are free to download and study. If you can afford, buy the Pooleys Air Pilot Manual books or AFE PPL course. Remember you can do self study and many student pilots do self study as well. All the best. 👍

Quick question. I'm am 13 and it is my deepest passion to become a commercial pilot, but I was wondering what do I do to get started before flight school. Thanks

Hi Kenanthebeast! Look into flight schools in your area and compare programs. Also look into if they have an affiliated partnership with a college/university as they can offer better financing such as scholarships or loans and they'll be able to offer college credit. Keep watching our channel for more informational videos and good luck on achieving your aviation dreams!

Do as much research as possible. Learn everything about aviation, and look at different programs, example, civil air patrol, or EAA, for opportunities to fly. You will learn a lot and be better prepared

Quick question: Do we need a college degree to become a pilot?
@ThrustFlight8 жыл бұрын
Hi haxeex ahmd! In the United States you do not need a college degree to become a pilot. Thanks for watching!
@haxeexahmd10258 жыл бұрын
But I've heard without a college degree you don't get hired by major airlines, is that true?
@ThrustFlight8 жыл бұрын
Many major airlines do require college degrees, but there are also many - especially during this current pilot shortage - that either do not require a college degree or can make exceptions for otherwise qualified pilots. A college degree will certainly help you get a job with major airlines but it is possible to work for major airlines without one.

Does the same apply for uk university degrees? I'm currently in a video game programming course in the uk and want to use this to get a job to pay for flight lessons. How much will the degree apply to what you said above? Also does it matter what the degree is in?

Maybe 2 people clicked on "Getting Started in Aviation" thinking it would be a dancing cat video? Your guess is as good as ours...
