I listened to this when it went on air. I was really disappointed in what was said except from Bob. I also watched the hang zone vid. Neither person seemed excited. They looked, especially Jake, sad. Didn't seem like they have a plan for what's next, either. But as much as I love the Musers, I was terribly bothered by what they had to say. Seemed like indifference and backing the company.

My feelings echo Bob’s. BaD Radio, and later The Hangzone, were stop-down appointment listening every day for me. I was pretty crushed when Bob was moved to The Hardline. It seems like The Musers (especially George) are aggressively toeing the company line.

BAD Radio was my favorite show, but I was really excited when Jake became a host. I know some people are turned off by him, but he’s the hardest working host at the ticket - a nice balance of sports and entertainment. He became a legend in my eyes after his fight at Fight Night. Committed to so many other bits as well. This sucks

Dan wasn’t my favorite, but he also wasn’t my least favorite. I thought he brought a lot to the ticket. He’s probably the hardest one to like, and I would assume Corby chose Bob over Dan when Mike left, and that changed all the dynamics. Honestly, they’ve all been there about the same amount of time (less Jake), and they should have just been all paid around the same. While there are a few personalities that are probably stronger than others, I don’t think any of them are so good that they deserved way more money than the rest, or should have tilted the pay scale. Whoever structured all the pay scales pretty much screwed this up. They all act like they’re brothers and good friends, they should simply all have been paid about equally to keep people happy. But I guess Cumulus disagrees.

1.) the conversation that no one knew what was going on yet, Corby and JUB know enough to say definitely that they just didn’t want to be there feels disconnected and a washed version of actual events. Dan and Jake said they didn’t want to leave. So who’s lying? 2.) this cross show round table about this feels defensive and makes me think that these two shows budgets we’re probably a factor in HZ not getting their contract done. 3.) The Ticket feels like your favorite small business that has changed ownership, and with each return visit, you notice one of your favorites have moved on, policy changes make the business not as personal. Prices go up while service gets watered down. Bad analogy maybe, there’s something going on that has caused people to leave over the last few years. There’s a lack of self awareness as well and accountability to the P1 that makes me feel like they just take it for granted that people will not follow the talent to other outlets.

I’m a 25+ year P1. I know all of these guys a little bit. For starters I haven’t heard Dan or Jake say they wouldn’t go to a competing media outlet. Maybe they did and I missed it. I'm glad new radio stations are being added in D/FW. The Ticket has been stale to me for awhile, and I'm not fond of the Fan either. I doubt I'll be a P1 of any stations. I won't be surprised if they don't wait out their non compete and hop to a different station. I know the Old Grey Wolf was tired of dealing with Cumulus, and I wouldn't be surprised if Dan and Jake were tired too.

I started listening to the Ticket when I was in high school in the early 00's. I became a P1 listening to BaD Radio during breaks between classes at college. I was bummed that Bob and Dan got split up after Rhyner left. In my opinion, Bob and Dan had the best chemistry of any hosts on the station. I understand why Bob was put in the afternoon drive slot. He brings a lot to the table in terms of actual sports talk beyond generic topics and perspectives. He and Corby have come a long way in terms of on air chemistry, but it was really hard to listen to Bob feel like the newbie for about 14 months before just sacking up and being the opinionated guy he is. Dan and Jake working so well together and seeming to genuinely like working with each other made 12-3 really enjoyable for me. I live overseas now and catch most of the Ticket stuff via podcast. Hang Zone was always the first segments I listened to. Not to mention their website with so much more audio. I love those dudes and I wish them the best. I listened to this segment live and I think a switch has flipped for me. I was really put off by some of the things said. Alleged promises to "not compete"....They were unsigned by their company who they feel wronged by. They can go wherever the hell they want. Jake confirmed in the Akash episode on the Dumb Zone that he didn't get a raise when he went from producer to host. That is bullshit no matter how you look at it. To the four of five people who actually read this, this fucking sucks and I figure you feel the same. The Ticket keeping some of the Hang Zone bits going just with different hosts just stinks of desperation and lack of creativity. Which is very un-Ticket. "Throwback Thursday" for starters. WTDS now does. I can't wait for the Invasion's August Business Review with Blake. If they actually roll one out I may bail completely.

There have been a few guys who left but the show they were on basically stayed intact as much as it could be - Greggo and Ryner. Donnie gets teamed up with Norm. Bob moves to PM drive. Board ops have come and gone. BUT...this is the first time in over a quarter of a century that an ENTIRE show went by the wayside. I think it is also ironic that Bob and Dan (BaD Radio ALMOST jumped ship when they had a contract negotiation. SummerBash would have been their last event except for an 11th hour agreement. And then Bob got the PM Drive job working with Corby. I hope you are counting your lucky stars Bob. I'm sure you are based on this - you were (perhaps?) the only one honest. Anyway, I hope those boys know what they are doing.

Why would anybody want to leave The Ticket? How about getting paid what you’re worth when you have the #1 show in your time slot in a major market? The fact is terrestrial radio is dying and the money is moving to online content - ask why the hell Cumulus wasn’t willing to leverage The Hang Zone as _both_ a radio show and a podcast? Do that with all the shows, make a Ticket channel on KZbin behind a paywall. It’s so damn obvious how it could work…but Cumulus said no way. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
