I would take Angmar. I would give Gulahvar the Mithrel coat for the +3 defense if that’s allowed lol and I would give the Witch King a staff of power!

I've been toying around with Mordor, if you give a staff of power to the Dark Marshal you get an infinite 6" banner for your troops (who needs Suladan anyway) and give one to the shadow lord for infinite blinding light. They can then also use this free will point for casting on the turns when they don't need to activate their abilities. Plus you can then still take the crown on the Witch King who is already a great enough caster on his own. You then have 3 very reliable casters for shutting down hero threats and ring bearers, unfortunately the warriors might just fall short in quality at 1000 but it might be possible

At Bradfords event last year one of our ihl regulars brought the signal tower, got to play against it with sauron shelob, it was fun to play against but apparently Bradford and the player had a 2 hour call a few weeks before the event to discuss its rules. He had made it himself tho and it is sick

Moria, just so that I can use my Balrog painted model that has never been used in either SBG or WotR despite starting playing in 2005. First and only games in 13 years were at last year’s final GBHL event. Now tempted back by the odd parameters, so my planned army choice could be dreadful….but hopefully fun (plus l live close by 😂).

An interesting take might be Saruman with the Crown of Morgul, and give Grima the ring so he can constantly escape being trapped plus the constant threat of him charging the big hero with the ring on. But realistically I'd go multi-wraith Mordor with a staff of power and either the ring or Narsil on Shagrat for free combats (would he get the Shield of Cirith Ungol's special rule if using Narsil as a 2-handed weapon?)

You guys talked about it lots, but the combo that reached it to me was Gondor! A chance to play Gandalf and Aragorn together - yes please! Morgul Crown for Gandalf, the Ring for Aragorn - just claiming the spoils after the Pelenor fields

I would like to probably be the only person who takes a legendary legion. One because I’m still new to the game and can only really do one army at 1000pts. Be the biggest event I’ve been too. Assault upon helms deep and the List would consist of 66 models 21 crossbows 3 ballistas 5 berserkers Rest pike and sword and board Mission would be to shoot the hell out of anyone’s hero with the extra items equipped 😂 hoping to see some of the KZbinrs there and for the giveaway 😂 it would be the cherry on the cake.

I would take barad dur, I'd give sauron narsil for free combats and plus one to wound to wound most models on 2s or a staff of power to have 2 free points of will per turn. I'd then give Shelob the morgul crown to go to 3 attacks and 4 on the charge. 1000pts with these special rules is saurons time to shine. It's also very tempting to give Sauron the mithril coat to go to defence 13

I would the riders of Theoden legendary legion because I've just finished painting it, I'm going royal guard heavy as I don't like the idea of dodging my opponent and just trying to shoot them. I would also give Theoden the helm of the dragon emperor for fight 6 Royal guard.
