I have been tie dying since I was a kid...and I've used so many different color mediums, sometimes I surprise myself! I'm self-taught, and have shared what I have learned over the years, through trial and error, with anyone interested. I've learned so much from you, patterns, various techniques, I would never have figured out on my own. Thank you so much gor sharing you beautiful creation and methods! I found this butterfly, I'm absolutely in love with this design! I was wondering if you'd be interested in giving it a shot, and sharing. I'm already working with my 4 year old great nephew on spirals, color combinations, etc. This butterfly is on a closed-lid ashtray... I will be waiting, watching, and hoping!

Hey there. I am really excited to try this design! Thank you very much for sharing your ideas and giving us tutorials on tie dyes!! I have been eagerly wanting to make a mandala tie dye. I have seen a video on it made with ice dye and hemostats. I currently don't have any Hemostats and only liquid dye. Do you know any method or could share a tutorial on making a mandala tie dye without hemostats with liquid dye if possible??

How do you make sure that the orange dye does not blend into the white at the infront of the shirt?

The front and the back of the tee have been separated from each other ... so on the back of the tee, one side I dyed in purple, very light coating, and then the other side I dyed with the orange

you can try, but my feeling is the fabric is too thick to fold the eyes ands nose doubled up.... you might be able to pull them apart and tie the eyes and nose separately

I do not sell them ... too many other things to do ... I find free clip art online and then trace it to make a stencil .... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpilfHete9pmq6s one way if you are drawing an image because there is no free clip art, then I will fold a paper in half and draw my image, then cut it out and open it up to see how it looks and then adjust as needed and then I make the final stencil that I use on my tees

How do you keep your shirts looking so bright?

part of it is the dyes... I use Procion Dyes... I mix them strong, I spin out my soda ash so the tee is barely damp, I batch my tees with heat for 48 hours.... the combo of these things gives me the bright colors... but even mine lighten up after they are washed and dry

I have not used RIT dye myself, but i have seen results from many people and they just do not compare to the better dyes, like Procion Dyes which are what I use ..... if you are not ready for the Procion Dyes, then a step up from the Rit Dyes would be Tulip dye that comes in the tie-dye kits

if you drew the eye on the fold, then you would have one eye in the center of the head, over the mouth the eye needs to be drawn away from the center fold of the tee.... ALSO, when you are pleating the eye, you need to make sure you pick up both layers of the tee since it is folded in half ... if you miss a layer, then you will have one eye on one side of the head

I buy the three powders and mix them into one tub and then use it to make my black dye ..... but if I was going to recommend just one black, it would be Raven Black from Dharma, or Dark Black from Custom Colors

I have not made a Spiderman yet, I will add it to my list BUT, just in case you want to try it now..... I would do it similar to the Deadpool for the initial design, just change the shape of the eyes, then after it was washed and dry, I would spray with soda ash, let it dry and then use thick black dye to paint the web onto the face here is my list that has the Deadpool in it just in case you do not want to wait for the video : kzbin.info/aero/PLMEtBqB2Bzuq6jsqRM34HlJiCgSQPmfhE it is like the 4th or 5th one in this list
