I like the back more than the front! lol I like seeing the fold lines in the black.

Beautiful shirt, Angie. The colors pop on the black. Thanks for sharing:)

Wow. That came out so pretty. Great folds and the colors really "pop" with the black.

Beautiful design. I wonder what the pattern would look like if after turning the shirt over, putting black on the half that had the colors on the reverse side and the colors on the half that had the black. Might be worth taking an old t-shirt to experiment with. Thanks so much for sharing!!!!!
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think it would look similar to adding the colors to the entire front of the shirt and black to the entire back of the shirt. It would be fun to try though.

My two cents… I think it would look like a regular black backed spiral, meaning striped. I’ll still watch if you do it, Angie. 😉❤️🌈

So the main idea to spiral something large is to go nice and easy and work out the folds along the way, great tip. Watching this made me think of doing the colors with liquid dye and then ice dying the black portion. I wonder if that would do anything different to the outcome. Have you ever done something like that?
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're exactly right. I haven't ever ice dyed 1/2 of a shirt and liquid dyed the other 1/2. That might be fun to try! I have ice dyed 1/2 a shirt with Gunmetal Gray though and it turned out cool.

This is fantastic! I've been looking for a cool design to do for my husband who's not overly into super colorful tie-dye shirts like my daughter and I are. This is just perfect! Thanks for the amazing inspiration!

This looks awesome! Great work! Just as a side note from my own experience: you were 100% right in rinsing it thoroughly the way you did, because that black would have deposited into the other colours and affected the brightness of the rainbow. The product I use says that to neutralise the soda ash in the garment after the 24 hour developing period, you have to soak it in some vinegar and water. Soda ash being an alkali, or base chemical and vinegar being acidic.

Borrowed phone I watched your single geode video wierd spoon I think if ya took and opened up the ends maybe easier to use maybe with needle nose pliers. Ya know thier tapered work the spoon like mandrel
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
That's a good suggestion. I actually have started using stainless steel lab spoons to apply the dye. They come in a variety of sizes and they work great!
