The Wayback-ed site shows the instructions, but the Wayback-ed site's links to the .zip files don't work. Are there other ways of obtaining TFReorchestratedMusic.zip and TFReorchestratedData.zip?

I was able to get this track to work by putting REGISTER.WAV onto the TieMusic cd/iso. Any Idea how to get this to work with the GOG release of Tie Fighter? It doesn't seem to work when placing that file into the music folder

Well shut my mouth... they have a whole guide on the GOG version over at the Saving Content website. So surprised people got onto this so fast as it was only just released on GOG. Great to see such dedicated support by the community to such a great classic game. Once again thanks to everyone involved for aiding in such awesome work!

Robert Shilo Yep. Abdul contacted me about GOG releasing it literally a day after I bought them on GOG, and figured out the fix (not that it was hard) while I was sleeping.

Can't wait to hear that epic registration theme in the game again. Any idea when the new files will be posted? If anything, can you list what the newly included song titles (especially for the registration and main/combat chamber map screens) have to be so we can manually add them to the old files?

Hello Retro Dan. When you were re-orchestrating Tie Fighters music did you happen to do it in such a way were a Score could be exported in Finale or something? I would love to obtain a copy of the games whole score to be played by a live full orchestra versus software based instruments. I have a contact with the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra and would love to get a full performance of the Tie Fighter score played. They are always looking to do Pops repertoire.

+Shane DeLorme The files are easily found on the web in MIDI format, which can be opened in the music editor of your choice in standard notation.

Aww... retro dan the two songs you should have a focused on you skip through. Both the training simulators have some of the best scores. You should've spent more time there then signing your name in. I know I'm getting picky . Good memories

TFReorchestratedMusic.zip and TFReorchestratedData.zip appear to have disappeared from the web altogether, including the Wayback machine. Does anyone still have locally saved copies?

It's too bad this doesn't work as well as advertised. It's not a drop-in replacement for the iMUSE system. Would've been truly amazing if it had been. It's not as reactive when in the actual missions.

That's because it CAN'T be. The iMUSE system is only possible with MIDI sound, and the music engine was completely re-written to use rebook audio for the CD versions. It was amazing that we had a programmer skilled enough to hack our stuff into the game as-is, but without access to the original source code, there was no possible way to re-implement iMUSE. We had to make a compromise, and this was the best option.
