Ahh Tiffany!!! Loving this video (which I have finally managed to finish!! 😳😩😂🙈✌🏼) ....what a sweet, tender heart Heather has, and so much wisdom too 🥹💖💖 I am so, so sorry for the unkind backlash this video has wrought.....neither of you deserves it 💔💔 I loved every moment of this interview, and I appreciated hearing about Heather's experiences, plus her openness to share what is on her heart. I hope neither of you feel too hurt by the judgment cast your way in these comments. I am certain that for every 'unsubscribe' there is another Christian just thanking God that you're brave enough to create such honest, open and encouraging content. Lots of love, and I look forward to more inspiring podcasts in the future 🥹🙏🏼💖💖💖

Unsubscribe unfortunately… loved your content, but this is just not biblical. or maybe we read different Bibles. I believe that feeling that you’re gay is not a sin itself, because we all have temptations, but acting on it, living this openly and saying that God is not against it - is sin. Truly, no hate, i will continue to pray for you both ❤

That is totally fine! James and I are actually popping on tomorrow morning to share our heart behind this video, our perspectives on the Bible, and more! Also, we have two episodes where we dive into specific biblical scholarship around what the Bible is saying about LGBTQ. So are we just going to completely dismiss Romans 1:21-32? We all struggle with sin and are tempted differently but acting on our sinful/lustful, fleshly desires is contrary to Gods word. This path leads us not to "deconstructing" our faith but destruction. Again, how can we dismiss the passage about same sex lusts in Romans 1? And many others condemning this... 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NLT [9] Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, [10] or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. [11] Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. VERSE 11 - AMEN!!!! PRAISE GOD THAT ARE WASHED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB.

Tiffany... With all due respect, why are you even deconstructing your faith or promoting deconstruction? Christians BUILD their faith on the Word of God, not on society's distortions and subjective interpretations of the Word of God. I am so disappointed to see how you are caving to this culture of "deconstruction." And for what? A few more views? There have been so many young Christian women (including myself) that were encouraged by your past videos to live a faithful life devoted to God no matter what the world tells us our life should look like. And now your recent videos have all been about breaking down foundational truths of our faith and speaking lies about God. It's disappointing and discouraging. I challenge you to look back on your old videos and on the truths that you were sharing. May the Lord reignite your desire to speak what is true of him!

If I may be so bold, Tiffany has lost followers because of her deconstruction series'; she is not making these videos and interviewing this wonderfully diverse spectrum of guests to be more popular! She's doing it for every Christian out there who has been struggling with some of the theology they have grown up hearing, which grates against the core of who they are....who want to remain close to Jesus but who struggle to reconcile certain teachings with what they witness and feel and know to be true internally. I think she is incredibly brave to risk this type of backlash every time she releases these controversial videos.....but she does it because nobody else is doing it. She is an amazing, strong, wise person and I for one appreciate her content so deeply 🥹🙏🏼💖

God accepts the sinner and not the sin. if a person lives a sinful lifestyle an identify themselves with the sin then on judgment day God will destroy the sinner with the sin. God wants to remove sin from us. He told the woman caught in adultery to sin no more. LGBT is contrary to the original plan. God wants to save us from sin but not save us in sin.

@@TiffanyDawn it seems that you have compromised. There is a difference between having a conversation to explore another person's views an experience vs affirming and supporting that lifestyle. When you do not openly express that you disagree with the lifestyle then you only silently agree with it. You can only pick one side. You can't play both sides even if they are your friend. Faithfulness to God & his word requires us to stand for the truth rather than having pleasure in those who sin, and being in the act of supporting them.

I have so much admiration for both of you serving as bridges between the more conservative and the more progressive. That takes courage and I'm deeply encouraged by your willingness to do that work. I've also always thought that queer Christians have the most unique opportuniy to live in a way that involves a deep closeness to Christ and Christ's suffering and a dependence/communion with God than those who live without a queer identity. While never perfect, in some ways, queer Christians do sometimes have the most sincere and authentic faiths.

Tell me friend, when did Saruman the Wise abandon reason for madness?- Gandalf the Gray. I honestly don't understand how Christians can read the Bible and say it's okay to be a 'queer Christian' when it clearly says multiple times that sex and marriage is between a man and a woman. God created us for each other and made our bodies to fit together. It is for our good not to spoil our fun or make us miserable. While it is understandable that a Christian make struggle with same sex attraction, to act on them is to directly defy God. This honestly makes me so sad because when I first started listening to this podcast it was very helpful and interesting. It is not loving to accept sin. Homosexual activity is sinful. Any "deconstruction" that says it is not - is false. Falsehood is from the devil, not Christ. I say that as a woman with some attraction to other women, but always rejected such activity as I do also for sex with a man I am not married to. Sex includes mouth and hand on each other - which I say because I have seen other justifying that because it is not penis in vagina - it is okay with someone you are not married too - that is also false.

It's true that it's not loving to accept sin. But it is loving to accept the sinner even when they're sinning (depending on the sin problem I suppose, an abusive person should probably be kept at a distance until they resolve that, for example). @@picnictablesandaesopsfables I'm not taking issue with the people who commented their disagreement. I was taking issue with the large percentage of comments stating that they felt they had to unsubscribe because of the content. You're making an assumption about all those people by claiming all they're doing is putting up healthy boundaries from people who are unhealthy for them. To me, based on the context of what some of them said when they explained why they were unsubscribing, it seemed like most people were leaving because they didn't want to hear from people they disagreed with theologically. That's not mutually exclusive from putting up boundaries to keep people away who are unhealthy for them, but that doesn't follow from the evidence. All we know is that they don't want to listen to a podcast that previously seemed affirming of gay people. Why are you asking me about what I'd like to talk about and whether I said everything I wanted to say? I already said what I said in my comment. Are you assuming that I secretly have more to add..? And you're even asking that to the other person who commented under my comment, but all she said was "I agree." No hint of having more to say whatsoever.

Approaching seemingly different perspectives with love and having a openness to listen to other’s life stories is so important, & one does not compromise their faith because of that. We should have this posture of love (that’s walking in Christ), lgbtq affirming Christian here, but I think all sides should reaIly focus on love. Appreciate you Tiffany for exploring this conversation❤️ Heather B, is a lovely person, and her story is amazing. I love the discussion of intent in deconstruction, and remembering we have more things in common than not, like Heather said “the core of our faith is the same.” Stepping into the grey area is a beautiful thing! Oh love, my heart goes out to you, but our faith is not the same. Believing in the God of the Bible means believing in what He says, not in how we feel or how we feel about love. Our heart can be deceived. We love Him first and then each other. That is how Jesus summed up His Law, love God above all else with all your heart and your neighbor like yourself. If you love Him you believe Him, trust and obey Him, and He will help you get through what seems impossible. But we have to love Him to the point that we “hate” our own lives and He will give you the victory over sin. Read Romans again if you have a chance. I never thought I would overcome the things I have. He changes our heart, but we have to give it to Him. We’ll never outsmart Him. He is the Creator of it all so He knows how things work best, like a parent with a little child that teaches us, and as we grow we realize that they knew better. He loves you. Trust Him and His Word. He is the Truth and the Light. There’s no grey area with Him, it’s light or darkness. You are with Him or against him. I’m sorry if I sound harsh, not my intention. May the Lord Jesus keep growing your faith. Believe Him, give Him a chance. 💜✝️

(John 3:16) Also, If you love Him, you obey His commandments, take up our cross and follow Him.. my understanding is if we love God we obey and follow His teaching irrespective of how you feel about it(although as indicated in Psalms we can pray and confess our feelings to God) believing that He loves us, created us and knows what's best for us.

It is not that people who sin are all shunned from the church. Even Christians sin. But there is a difference between battling sin and celebrating it.

Thank you for the podcast. I would like to know the why. With the explanation of the scriptures on why the guest believes how she believes. I'm thankful to hear the discussion. But it is missing the truth from God's word about the subject.

To Heather: I understand that it must be extremely difficult for a person born homosexual to maintain celibacy, and I would never judge such individuals or their relationships. What I do judge is when people lie to justify their behavior by claiming it aligns with Christian norms. Both the Old Testament and the New Testament explicitly say that homosexual relationships are sin. The Old Testament - “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”, the New Testament - “Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” Just be honest and say - "Yes, I do sin, but who are you to judge? Have you tried walking in my shoes?” That would be brave and respectable. As we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

27:58 this is so revealing and perceptive about where a big chunk of the church in the US has gone recently. "You aren't racist" should be something that everyone obviously thinks about any Christian and that that isn't automatically true shows how completely some people have lost sight of Jesus.

Also, the whole "coming out" or not thing, I actually think this is a really positive example too, and increasingly the way things are going and should be going. We shouldn't presume who anyone is attracted to, if someone happens to introduce you to their girlfriend or boyfriend or non-binary partner then that's fine and generally something to be happy for them for. They don't have to say either in advance or even at that time what they are and aren't attracted to. I don't think Heather has anything to apologise for, though I really admire her concern towards the people who were uncomfortable and her willingness to help them work through that. The presumption of uniformity and a "default" is really not honouring the beautiful diversity in God's creation.

So for all the people passing judgment. Please do not do so. You have no right. You do have a right to disagree and not support it. Fine, it’s a sin, but so is our very existence. However, she’s still not a bad person, no harm is befalling anyone. Wishing her happiness and love in her future. I may not always agree with the actions of the lgb+ community, but her being a lesbian doesn’t bother me. She’s herself. Just her. 🩵
