Love this version. Archie Bell and the Drells too. Both just make me smile. The film is amazing too. Beautiful

This was my sister’s favorite song and whenever I hear it I think about how she danced like those young people in this movie clip. This really made me smile. Thanks.

The Great Bernard “Pretty” Purdie!!! The “Groove Master!!!” He was on a recording session at my studio in Brooklyn some years ago. Now my studio “Supposed To Music” always received compliments for the sound of the drums when recording. Well Pretty Purdie came in and had me swap the high and mid toms with each other and place the mics under them. When we played back the tracks, I couldn’t believe I was listening to the same drum kit!!! I learned an incredible lesson on that session!!! It’s not the gear but the person playing it! Plus! Purdie is a heck of a nice guy!!! It is one of my most cherished memories of Supposed To Music!!! ❤️🎶❤️👍🏾❤️

Always one of my favorite renditions! Performed by masters of their instruments across the board. Years ago, I came to appreciate Rainey, Walker and Purdie through their session work. This actual audio is from a live performance and is available on YT if you want to see this masterpiece be performed. Thanks for posting this!
