That was a fantastic story. I was invested in it from beginning to end and while I am somewhat sad that Grover's story ends here, it is completely on point for a man like Grover to choose what he did. He completed his final mission and gave that young man a shot at choosing his own destiny. As the old quote goes "Old Soldiers never die, they simply fade away." I'm curious to see how Bouncer's story goes from there, though I think perhaps a written epilogue presented in a separate video may be more feasible than a whole other series (same would technically be possible for Jules Wade, though his story does have a solidly complete end point as is). Thank you for another great story sir.
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
It's certainly not the ending I had envisioned when I started this season, but it felt more and more right the longer I sat with it. Grover's intent was never to rebuild the world or go on a warpath, and now that his initial goals have been seen to, it makes sense that he'd find a quiet satisfaction. I go back and forth a lot on what to potentially do with the survivors we've left "vague" throughout the series. Part of me enjoys having them open-ended, since it allows the viewer to use their own imagination to continue the story, but the itch to develop them further is always there. Don't quite know what's coming next, but I'm always grateful that you guys seem to enjoy whatever I put out, and I hope that continues into whatever I dive into in the future. :)
@Siren_DarkOcean_Official9 ай бұрын
Its a nice little pattern I noticed with finding Grover's friends and loved ones First one infected Second alive and somewhat well (with a bullet in his leg) Third one infected I will admit Grover's story felt short but I did love it nonetheless Can't wait to see who's next Maybe either a female survivor, Bouncer later on after Grover passes and burying him next to his lady, or even one of those members of that sanctuary from Jules' story at the beginnings of forming their sanctuary Who knows but all I know is it's definitely gonna be awesome
@thefairybug409 ай бұрын
I volunteer as tribute to voice a female survivor!
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
It is "short", but I think it offers up something that the other season's couldn't, which was companionship and comradery. Where the other survivors were very focused on "progress", this story kinda naturally developed into watching B and G escape their current situation. Lots of people are suggesting Bouncer as a continuation, which I've considered, but I'm still pretty undecided on where we go next. Wherever we do go though, I'm incredibly grateful that I have such a supportive audience that is excited to see what's coming. :)
@GabichanPlays9 ай бұрын
"I'll never do 40 minutes episode again" he said... And oh man, you never cease to suprise or misdirect me. The optimism I'm getting from your past two endings (well, this one maybe a bit less than the other) never fails in making the hit of the next series hit so much harder. Like, we barely knew anything about Killjoy and I still had to rewind to be sure that yeah, he does not get a happy ending. So like... congrats. You make even the backstory, backgroundy characters have enough of an impact on my weak heart to be sad about not meeting them. Just another part of the great way you tell your stories :) Well, that was a nice journey all around! I can't imagine how annoying dealing with multiplayer during the recording was and, I won't lie, I still would gladly see more of Gills and Bouncer's adventure... but I get why the ending came here and why the pain of doing the whole season with another player might not be something you want to repeat. Either way, I think that these bikers' banter will stuck with me for a while because it was so fun and alive and, after seasons of loneliness, it was also an awesome change of pace. Maybe one day the game will allow you to make more populated videos more comfortably but I'm pretty set in my trust in your storytelling regardless of any choice you might make ;) And man, I always end up writing the whole comment on the last episode, huh? Well, now that I finally caught up with everything, maybe I'll manage to get my thoughts out on more regural basis rather than those, not very episode-specific, ramblings.... Honestly, can't wait for the next one and the way you'll lead another survivor, with maybe, hopefully, some nice cameos or mentions to gloriously alive Jules and Bouncer ;) Good work as always, my man, good luck, take care of yourself and don't sacrafice that much sleep for this content! I'm sure I'm not the only once who will wait as long as you need for a new episode so don't overwork yourself! Well, time to get back into my own Zomboid game, the itch must be scratched... OH SHIT, IS THAT A BITE--

I seem to always return to this channel whenever I need some kind of motivation for Project Zomboid. I'm an avid lover for the game and I have tried a boatload of times to convince my friends to play this game with me but it never seems to catch their interest as much as it did me. I don't enjoy playing it alone as it gets lonely after a while and it killed my passion for the game. However, coming across your channel, the way you turn the game into a story and how much you put into giving the characters a personality has significantly gave me back the passion to try PZ in a different light. I still want to find people to play with and do something similar to what you do in PZ. On another note, I loved each of the stories you make and grown attached to each of the protagonists in an emotional way. Really excited to see what new stories are coming in the future. Much love.
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
It really is one of those mediums that allows you to get out what you put in. If you want to establish a deep character that you feel invested in, then the game is ready to reflect that back to you if you put in the effort. That's really what ignited my desire to get back into the game after a VERY long break from it, and now it's a treat to be able to share that all with you as more and more of my strange personalities become realized. :P

I am finally all caught up with your content! looking forward to more stories from the zomboid multiverse. It does seem like an abrupt ending, but with the issues you were experiencing with multiplayer, it is completely understandable. If I was bouncer, it would be hard to not be more kind to the old man. It's really hard not to like him! Even with the world ending around him, his ultimate goal was to bury his old lady. A very noble goal that even bouncer understood. We can only imagine what they went through together to survive the winter! I know Louisville is a warzone, but I am hoping we can get a story starting from that idea. Maybe it's an average joe who flips burgers, maybe it was a doctor who worked in the Louisville hospital? The possibilities are endless! Maybe we could follow the saga of Greg's daughter, who you briefly mentioned on Day 76 of Jules's saga
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
There's a long list of people that the audience want to see, and I'm definitely considering a few of them. The Martin's daughter is a popular one, since it would most likely occur in Louisville, but I'm not 100% committed to that idea yet. Here soon we'll see what's next on the agenda, but hopefully their story is entertaining enough to keep you all engaged.

@twowheeledgaming I wouldn't worry that much about engagement. What I really like about your videos is that they are encouraging a lot of people to get into project zomboid. IT'S TIME! Aw, man! On the one hand, I really want to know everything there is to know about those shots. On the other, Gills makes a good point about it being too dark to be doing anything out there. Oh no. Oh no no no no no. Something terrible is going to happen while Gills is asleep, isn't it? NOOO BOUNCER DIDN'T WAKE HIM! Where is he?! What happened to him?! BOUNCER YOU JERK! I WAS WORRIED! And now your supple ass is going to be exhausted for whatever the day has in store! Hell yeah, Gills, knock him out! Seriously, though, I hope they can work this out. It was sweet of Bouncer to let him sleep, but ill-advised. I can understand why they're both upset. That's an adorable apology, as far as roundabout make-up talks go. Bye-bye, fire station! You were a good home. Hey, there's the blue Camaro! Hi, Camaro! Nah, you keep worrying, Gills. That sniper is out there somewhere and up to something, I just KNOW it. Though I do wonder if the sniper is even a bad guy, or if he mistook Bouncer & Co. for bandits the first time around. Maybe he let then live the second time because he'd had time to reflect and realize that they were just survivors, like him. I sincerely hope that we get the chance to find out! Whoa, where'd that one dark-haired female zombie come from?! So THAT'S why Grover's was basically sleeping in the living room when we first met him. Mrs. Mills's housekeeping sounds PRECIOUS! I wish we could've seen it. Now I want to know who Bouncer's favorite superhero is. Besides all the, uh, 'plot' ones. Oh boy, that's a lot of fog. Montage time! I like the song: breezy, but with a god working beat. People often overlook how difficult it is to make a good montage. Showing the necessary scenes without dragging on forever is harder than it looks. Ha! Grover passing on the sacred Way of the Jackass tickled me. Ooh, what goodies? Hey, y'all might NEED all that stuff Grover is stockpiling. Never hurts to be prepared. “When you need it, and don't have it, you'll sing a different tune.” Good to know that Grover's thought ahead about how to get to Mrs. Mills. But I'm worried by his failure to plan beyond that. And Bouncer is jinxing stuff again! . . . uh-oh. I do NOT like where Grover contemplating his advancing age is headed. The radio, huh? Interesting! I'm excited for that possibility. Grousing! I do love their grousing. And they're through! I was waiting for a shot to ring out, too. While I completely agree with Gills, he also can't keep lecturing Bouncer about safety while pulling this shit. Ooh, another humvee! At least this place seems mostly clear. Oops, nevermind, not clear. Watch out for that sprinter! Uh-oh! That bottleneck won't mean much if Bouncer can't hold them. It just turns the place into a meatgrinder. Well, it's good that somebody isn't worried, because that's more zombies than I was expecting for the route Grover described. But hey, at least he's having fun. I was asking myself what that noise was just before Bouncer asked Gills. Wonder who that was? They still never checked the towers. I'd die laughing if the sniper was just hiding up there and waiting for them to leave. Ooh, that IS a nice humvee! I'm glad Bouncer is out of the rattletrap. I hope they can fit everything! Hmm, not totally sold on it being a good idea to sleep here, but I definitely agree that they can't go anywhere either, even with the problems involved in staying. Oh no. We're finally here. I'm going to cry, aren't I? That's some doctor zombies. There must be a leak somewhere. I hope his wife is still here, if she's not alive anymore. OH GOD! That was nerve-wracking! So many, and such a close call! Is Bouncer really okay? That 'keep out' graffiti has me wondering - did any of the rest of Gill's crew survive, and come here trying to find Grover or his wife? Or perhaps it was just a stranger, finding the halls infested and trying to warn away others seeking to rescue loved ones. I'm sure it's a touchy subject, but I do wonder why his old lady was here. Oh, no. That's her, isn't it? This must be the best and worst moment he's had since this nightmare started. Finally, he knows what became of her. Closure, after all this time. But to see her rendered a monster, no dignity, no quiet restful composure - it must hurt his heart so much to see her like that. And how much closure can he get in knowing what became of her, but not how it came to be? The poor man will surely have nightmares about how she turned, how long she held out before it happened, how worried and scared and confused and helpless she must have felt. Being able to lay her to rest will never be able to put him at peace with the fact that it needed to be done in the first place. Poor Grover, and poor Mrs. Mills. (Sidenote, I'd love to know her first name.) How dare you make me chuckle during an emotional steamroller! But Bouncer being a cocky bastard tickled me. Sorry, I wouldn't sleep in the lobby. I'd be holed up in one of the cells on one of the higher floors. Gills is just trying his best to find literally any task he can to keep himself occupied, isn't he? Anything other than pause and think about what's happened. I can't say I blame him, either. Do NOT plug your nose. Everyone always suggest breathing through your mouth to mitigate bad smells, but in my experience, that just makes you taste it as well, which makes it all the worse when you regret breathing through your mouth and switch back to your nose. BOUNCER! You lovable idiot! Clean your hand up right now! I know the chances of infection from a scratch are low, but they're not zero! Oh, man, I don't know what I'll do if he gets infected trying to help Grover reach his wife. I don't know what GROVER will do if he got infected trying to help Grover reach a his wife. Is Mrs. Mills's family plot even an option? Even if they could just load her up and drive down clear streets, is it even in the city? I wonder if she's one of those people who had her tombstone made up in advance? Both of my grandmothers did that. Though, to be fair, that's only because they both outlived my grandfathers. But anyway, I'm just wondering if there's a stone somewhere with her name on it that Grover could conceivably fetch and place over her grave. OH! 'Till she calls me home'. Yup, I'm gonna cry. Knowing that Grover was in 'Nam explains his immunity to the zombie stink. Nice touch! Wait, what woke them? Was it just Bouncer's inability to sleep through the stink? Not that I'm complaining about clearing the halls, but why? Oh, yeah, because the stink was keeping Bouncer from sleeping. Gotcha. Rest well, Mrs. Mills. That's a nice spot by the water, there. Surely a nice place like that will have flowers come springtime. You'll have them eventually, so go easy on Grover. Yeah, while I personally agree with Bouncer, I also see Grover's logic. Strangers in this world could help, or might spell their doom. Aww, leaving the jacket with her was sweet. SIX MONTHS LATER?! WHAT?! Hang on, hold everything - I need to do some math. So, this is mid-March of '94?! They've blown past the time we saw with Jamie and Jules?! You jerk, now I'll be waiting on pins and needles to see if Grover meets Jules somehow. Okay, restarting the video. Grover got a bike! I bet it must've amused him to no end to ride a policeman's motorcycle. And some lovely decorations for her grave. I see a doll (which is raising some serious questions for me) and what is that pink thing? Perfume? Oh, thank goodness! Bouncer lived! And he didn't give up on people, either. That makes me happy, even if it means that he and Grover must part ways. I can't help but wonder who, if anyone, Bouncer has been talking to on the radio. Jules? The survivors who lost some people to Kevin? Someone else? Wait, back on the island?! What happened during those missing six months?! Wait, is this the end of Grover's story?! The end of season 3? The end of this segment of season 3? WHAT IS HAPPENING?! I am feeling too many things! I suppose the completion of Grover's goals would make this a good, satisfying ending for him, but I still have so many questions! What about that sniper, for example!

It is indeed... *TIME*. Though it was short lived, I did appreciate being able to show some "believable" friction rising up between the pair. Up until this point the bickering has mostly been squashed by the events taking place around them, but these two rough and tumble guys probably couldn't coexist for long without stepping on each other's toes from time to time. Some montage appreciation is always welcome. XD There's a lot of fussing that comes with trying to keep those segments entertaining, so you've validated a couple hours of frustrated editing with a simple comment. :P Not mentioning the specifics about Mrs. Mills and why she was placed in the facility is something I went back and forth on a bit. Ultimately I thought it was more true to the character that Gills wouldn't bring it up or even write it down in his journal, and it does have the added benefit of letting the viewer fill in the gap with whatever their mind is leaning towards. Most everyone has had to deal with a sick loved one, and relating to Grover in that way ultimately helps solidify him as "real". I don't even want to begin to figure out the horrors of potentially dealing with dementia or alzheimers (or something similar) with a situation like this playing out. People suffering from those conditions are already so desperate and confused, so having the world ripped apart around them must be terrifying. The two were actually woken up by corpse sickness, and we were praying that moving them out of the lobby area would fix it, but the whole building counts as "one" space, so it ended up being impossible to remove ALL the corpses from the entire structure. That spiral of questions following the "Six Months Later" card is just perfect. I don't think anyone was ready for the series just to "end" in that moment, and it's been interesting seeing everyone's reactions as the dust settles. I had a feeling you'd be the first to point out the doll and the perfume, and of course that's left up to the imagination at the moment. The "island" by the way, is the land that the asylum is on. Just north of the facility there's a small neighborhood that they ended up traveling to (played it out, but didn't include it in the episode), but the whole place is surrounded by a small river which helps keep it separated from the undead. As always, loved hearing your thoughts throughout the episode, and hope to keep seeing them as long as you stick around. :P

This has been said already and I'll say it again. After the video you released about how unlikely it is for you to include co-op in the series... This is NOT the follow-up I expected. Beautiful story and amazing execution, top-notch from start to finish as usual. Felt a bit like the "tower bastard" story was left unresolved, but well, in life you don't always get all the answers either.
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think that video left the wrong impression, since my overall conclusion was I was going to "try" to use MP as much as possible, and this is about what that looked like. Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed the story and I'm happy that you came to the same conclusion as I did regarding the missing soldier. Though it would have been thematically satisfying to see him "concluded", in a situation such as this not everything is wrapped up with a bow. If they were both set on not running into one another, then that's precisely what would happen.
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
Yeah, that video probably gave off the wrong impression, since the point was that I wanted to "try" MP, and this series is what that looks like. I'm glad you enjoyed the story though, and also happy you came to the same conclusion as I regarding the soldier. Not every thread gets wrapped up in a bow, especially in a scenario such as this. Though it's not the most thematically satisfying thing, I feel like it's much more realistic than some of the alternatives.

I'm a little disappointed in the ending, though i suppose youre at the custom maps limits. I also understand Gils. I dunno how much globe trotting I'd wanna do in his position. Still, I would have liked to see them build up a shelter and survive the winter. They might come across the same trouble Jules had with securing enough food to survive. Hell, maybe Gils dies saving Bouncer, and the story switches to his POV.
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
The ending is exactly what I wanted either, but there's a fair few back-end issues that kinda made it necessary, and I did feel like it was a fitting conclusion for at least Grover. I am kicking around the idea of switching over to Bouncer for a future season since it's heavily implied he'll be leaving on his own soon, but we'll see what I end up settling on once I gear up for another run.
@Anon_Omis9 ай бұрын
@twowheeledgaming I'm assuming the back end issues are related to multiplayer, which is unfortunate. I will be interested to see what you do next season. Honestly if it's just another person trying to survive in Knox County I'd be happy. Maybe someone trapped in Louisville, or just surviving out of Muldrough. I think it'd be fairly easy for them to avoid Jules and Jamie, especially if they make no attempt to set up a radio.

I got two things. First, a question did the guy in the military outpost/checkpoint exist and was there a chance he could have come across you? Second, a suggestion if you want something you could do to have another person be on the map both of you spawning somewhere random and just see if the two of you meet. It adds another bit of randomness to the game.
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
As far as the story the soldier "existed", but as far as having another player manning that role, there wasn't. Going forward I think I'm going to be avoiding multiplayer not only because of the many issues I've listed before, but I figured out through this playthrough that the actual game plays differently from singleplayer to multiplayer. It's far less enjoyable playing with these odd quirks, so even playing "alone" on multiplayer is not really something I'm interested in anymore.
@shadowwatcher41449 ай бұрын
@@twowheeledgaming darn that sucks. I know you mentioned that having just another person on the screen was a pain but what exactly was different between single and multi player?

@@shadowwatcher4144 Zombies act way differently (not reacting to noise, not seeing you, heading the wrong direction, etc), the "Zombie Culling" issue was a constant annoyance even with the fix installed, certain mods don't work right, also hitting zeds causes them to "bounce", just lots of small annoying things that kinda drove me crazy over time. :P
@shadowwatcher41449 ай бұрын
@@twowheeledgaming well that's understandable multiplayer is always finicky in a singleplayer focused game. I understand not wanting to deal with the annoyance it cause. All I can ask is that you at least keep the idea of multiplayer open in case something happens to make the experience better for you in the future. Love your content and thank you for the stories. Lastly what were the settings you were running I'm relatively new to actually playing project zomboid and was curious how you got only a select number of the zombies to run and some to walk.
@twowheeledgaming9 ай бұрын
@@shadowwatcher4144 I am staying open to including it in the future, just with a MUCH smaller scope. The settings I use are linked in the description, but what you're looking for to have a mix of sprinters and shamblers is a mod called "Random Zombies". It allows you to set a percentage of each speed, and I highly recommend it to help spice up the game. (Mod list is also in the description, but it's LONG.)
