I saw him perform as the lead in Pirates of Penzance, might have been in 1982, I had already seen the Rocky Horror and it BLEW MY MIND that this was the same actor. He was incredible as the Pirate King, even doing some improv during the show, which was so funny and made the whole theater shake with laughter.

(Side note:. the band QUEEN was emerging as rock icons during the period this video was made, in the "halcion days" of "RHPS".....and ( I find it very noteworthy that Tim Currys exotic, full of energy, performances remind me so of Freddy Mercury's own looks , and performance energy of this time period) .......They both were simply gorgeous and had a way of drawing you in, and engaging the audience on many levels!
