As a Marine wife of 20 years, this song always makes me tear up. My husband went on many deployments, and I could never listen to this and a few other songs. My husband is old school, he had a letter written out to me. I am thankful every day that I never received it. He was injured on his last deployment, but thank God, He brought him home to me. I appreciate your reaction to this video, it’s honest and heart felt. Semper Fi.

This song came out around the time I came home from my 1st deployment to Iraq and I haven't been able to listen to it since. It just wrecks me emotionally and brings back memories and feeling I thought I had buried. I just tried again and I still can't make it through this song without my soul crying...its amazing how lyrics can make you break down uncontrollably. I was on funeral detail after returning so leading up to my 2nd deployment I gave honors to veterans and helped lay them to rest and to see the family hurt and hear their cries still haunts me as we would fold the flag and try to keep tears from falling down my face was....Eeeeew that's a hurt I'm not ready to feel yet🥲

I'm humbled to be named for my Uncle, my dad's big brother who paid the ultimate price fighting the Nazi's in World War II. My dad served in the U.S. Army AirCorps and then the Air Force ... WW II, Korea, and Vietnam ... he always grew quiet whenever the family started talking about his brother. I'm a 45 year old grown man and have never listened to this song without tears in my eyes. I have no connection to it. I know nobody that has died at war. It just gets me.

It's a great song, and I like how you feel the music and message. Seems like you can empathize (of that's the right word) with the music. I like this song and almost cry when I hear it.

This song always reminds me of a letter I wrote to my then 8 month old son when I was deployed in Desert storm. Thankfully he never got to read it.

What a great tribute to ALL fallen soldiers and their families and friends who have given so much for this country. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💓💓. Coming from a military family myself I understand the sacrifices that come with it. I am proud to say that I am part of the military community. God Bless America and the soldiers that have and are protecting every single day.
