A masterclass from the Professor. I listened through it at a single sitting. I’ll listen again this weekend and write out notes. Thanks to Drs. Noakes, Brukner and Mason for bringing this top flight content. Lord knows my own doc doesn’t have an interest in any of this unless it’s sponsored by Lipitor.

thankfully I discovered high fat,low carb at exactly the right time to save my own life. With no health insurance and almost certain congestive heart disease, daily chest pain, suddenly not able to exert myself to even walk a half block without 20 minutes of sweating and panting...I could tell I was almost dead-it was coming...I tried several things and for years had been trying low fat, had upped my veg percentages almost to the point of being vegan but was yoyo-ing and binging on sweets as well. I am no where near perfect as my PTSDx4 still has me occasionally thrown off track but my main meals most of the time are Carnivore. The toxins from fruits and veg had previously caused me a lot of physical pain, autoimmune disease and now I can clearly see when I eat them I hurt again-when I eat just meat and fats I feel like a million dollars. Dozens of health improvements happen! First thing I noticed when I went Carnivore was my life long (LL) insatiable food cravings went away and I felt a mental and physical strength almost surge thru my body. I felt FREE! Then I started sleeping like a baby! My LL insomnia went away, my LL sleep apnea was gone! My skin started clearing up(I thought I had some weird post-menopause skin condition with watery texture and clogging pores. Suddenly my heartburn, indigestion and gas disappeared. Then My chronic fatigue syndrome disappeared. My daily chest pains started easing very quickly (nowadays my BP is normal). My migraines (previously 4-6 severe per week) disappeared! (I have had 4 in 18 months and every single time it was after a cheat meal!!!) My arthritis, and joint pain left (except after a cheat it shows right back up) My ankles stopped ballooning up swollen and puffy! My daily back pain(normally by 11:00 am it would plague me at work) -GONE! My joint pains in my knees and hips -Gone. Even my asthma and allergies (after month 7 ) was noticeably better.) My LL chronic anemia disappeared. My LL thyroid issues seemed to have leveled out. (This later seemed to have had a hiccup after I started slipping up more frequently with cheats-but I think it is more normal again since cleaning up my eating act again). Oh I also lost 95 lbs but that obviously was the least important of all these things. Sure it has it’s own complications as well but Extraneous body fat is a symptom rather than a direct cause. And all this on a dirty carnivore diet! (wish I could be never having a cheat) (wish I could eliminate the dairy as well but it gives me variety and I seem to need treats to deal with PTSD and the dairy substitutes for that. I do use aspartame as a sweetener as well. I am allergic to coffee (LL) so I drink diet cokes which do not seem to affect my blood sugar. I sadly drink them like water and try sometimes to do water and lemon or lime juice but I need to cut back the diet cokes certainly. I don’t eat organ meats really, but I do chew and eat soft bone ends and eat the gristle off the bones. I should up my bone broth probably and eat liver but ... that feels forced. Anyway I muddle along the best I can. After about month 11 I could finally see some improvement in my LL (yes since birth!!!) fibromyalgia (less cramps, less intensity, less duration, less painful skin sensations, less on-fire skin, less incidents of feeling like my toes had been skinned or amputated. Less feeling like concrete in major muscles.) Oh-almost forgot-I had terrible plantar fasciitis so that I could not put pressure on my feet for 2 years-I had found shoes which helped so much but now it has disappeared entirely and I walk around in thin soled shoes with no problems at all. With so many improvements it is easy to leave something out. The biggest thing that bothers me now is still a lingering bit of gut/IBS issue-again if I eat pure-it is better and if I accidentally get some spices-then OMGEEE-my body tries to eliminate it almost immediately so that is uncomfortable. But I can tell my guts have improved a lot as well (after 8-9 months most issues were better.) Sure this is anecdotal and I will still die someday from something but I was so sick, so full of inconveniences, exhaustions and pains that I didn’t know what feeling good was. I have a friend who was on the same path as me 18 months ago-I have healed and reenergized and she is scheduled for 3 separate surgeries already and overmedicated to deal with terrible symptoms. I saw her going downhill so fast like me but for an addition length of time. Finally she has started cutting out most processed foods at least and she has now lost 15 lbs as well! 8 personal friends have now gone on Carnivore, about 10 more inquired intensely about it but are just not able to commit to even start (which I do understand- I thought Keto was too restrictive for a long time too.) I did do Keto for 2 weeks before craving a huge steak and discovering carnivore the next day and switched over. I still had terrible LL cravings on Keto but that may have just been an initial thing that might have gone away. However the craving went away immediately with that first steak!!!! Freeeeee!

superb piece of detective work by TN: 1hr30mins: key line in the WHI: they seem (by accident?) to have omitted the line that commented on the 3% of women in the study, who were know to have heart disease: how did they do: it would appear the data was deleted; but the graphic suggests it should have shown the control group did better! What a world we live in; that the diet-heart hypothesis is like a dragon; it cannot be slain; it must live forever; as a falsehood.

I am on the low carb diet for few years, but I also avoid transfats and I use anymore fats, ghee and extra virgin olive oil (for salads only).

recently there are reports of companies 'filling out' olive oil (even those claiming to be 100% olive oil) with other vegetable oils. This isn't an uncommon practice in foods. China spent lots of time, effort and money to develop methods to get rice syrup to bypass testing so they could use it in honey as well. Not that is the issue here in the low carb community but the first use of many vegetable oils were as a part of lard as well so industry has had over a century of practice on doing this.
