I've had mine since new in 2003. Best car i've ever owned. Heavily modified over the years, broken every thing from diff to box to axles to motor and upgraded with better. Currently sleeving the block bored out to 5.6L with darton sleeves and carillo pistons! Can't wait to get it finished before summer! FYI: All m113k put out 493hp, benz downgraded the e55 on paper to prevent potential buyers skipping over on the much more expensive SL and CL models

The thick blanket may well be for emergency hail protection. Great vid, I just purchased one of these with an unbelievable service record, they are out there folks just be patient.
