Suggesting the US is distracted by the Israeli-Hamas conflict is a real overstatement. And suggesting that the US military and economy can't support 3 different theater conflicts isn't really true. It's probably true that at that point and unlike the current 2 conflicts US industry might have to consider new spending to accelerate procurement timelines but for now I see no signs that any new production lines have been authorized because of the current 2 conflicts, a lot of people have no idea how large the US military industrial complex is just doing normal business. And many timelines won't change easily because they're dependent on new technologies that aren't quite complete.

Given China´s dependence on imports (primarily food and fuel) - they would be slapped with crippling sanctions almost immediately which would push an enormous amount of people into famine. I´m surprised this part was not mentioned in the clip. It would be very risky indeed for China to try and take Taiwan militarily, I mean when was their military last tested?! If they do try to take Taiwan, you would likely see new military technology suddenly appear by the US which would be formidable. The US always leads the way here and will continue to do so...

I believe the speaker is wrong about the effect of supplying Israel is having a noticeable impact on Ukraine. A relatively small amount of 155 artillery ammo was supplied to Israel that could have been supplied to Ukraine; and Israel may not even use it as Gaza is not an artillery war and Israel has a huge stockpile of artillery shells. However, the speaker is wrong that the US has shipped missiles to Israel that were intended for Ukraine. The US shipped "Iron Dome" missiles and some air to ground missiles to Israel that can only be launched from western jets (which Ukraine does not currently have). None of those missiles are usable by Ukraine. The Missiles being shipped to Ukraine (M270/HIMARS, Patriot, and the old Hawk anti-aircraft missile are not being used by Israel in the Gaza war (Israel does not have old HAWK system).

I work at Lockheed Martin. I can ASSURE you that our engineers are constantly developing new tech. Then of course, you have cutting edge tech moving ever forward at Skunk Works and DARPA and other secretive entities that most of us don't even know about. Oh and the horrible terroristic regimes in the region are bad too. The CCP is most interested in the West's commitment to and performance in, Ukraine. Ruzzuh is a large communist bloc nation trying to subsume a valuable former vassal state back into the "fold". They are using military means, after the subversive tactics failed. The situation is analogous to the CCP/Taiwan struggle. If we stick with Ukraine and help them to victory, it may well stay the CCPs hand in Asia. We would save Taiwan without lifting a hand in combat or in direct assistance while simultaneously securing the independence of a valuable ally in Ukraine. Add in the deterrent factor in other conflicts in other parts of the world, and it's a winner. It is much easier to involve the US military in a number of interrelated conflicts rather than trying to pick them ala carte.

Although I live in South Africa, I have strong Ukrainian roots and unwavering support for Ukraine.. According to some very recent media news posts, ruzzia is now pushing hard for the BRICS currency to be established. Yes, we can all see why. It was heavily speculated ahead of the BRICS Summit in August the bloc would put forward a proposal to create a new currency between the participating nations to ease trade and to side-step sanctions imposed by the West. Going by russia’s economist, Sergey Glazyev's comments, the new BRICS currency might be launched during the 16th summit in 2024. The development will lead to a paradigm shift in the global financial sector threatening the existence of the US dollar. The US and the West need to wake up and smell the coffee now before it's too late.

There is a group of people who have been wandering in the world for thousands of years. One day, a painter became the leader of Germany and initiated a purge against them. Many countries reached out to them, and the United Nations passed Resolution 181, demarcating land for them to establish their own country. However, this group of people did not repay the favor. Instead, as their power grew, they invaded neighboring countries and massacred the natives. They eventually become that "painter" as well. Its accomplice, the United States, has activated its state propaganda machine, distorted right and wrong, and deleted remarks exposing its crimes on the social media it controls. Great interview as always! However I think that in the context of a possible Chinese invasion/blockade of Taiwan, the counterforce to be evaluated is by far not the US. Chinese greyzone activities in the South-China seas and the Ukraine war have reignited global security awareness thus strengthening regional defensive alliances like AUKUS. Many military capable but previously neutral countries like Australia, Japan, South Korea, and other South-East-Asian states are now reaching out to the US to deter Chinese expansion in the region, not to mention the massive re-armament program of the Japanese forces alone. On the other hand of course one should also not underestimate the strength of China and its allies, especially in the advent of mass-producable low-tech drones and rockets, which completely change the rules of warfare that western allies have been specialized on before. Only the future will tell whether Putin and his allies were right to view western security- and defense politics as a dead horse or whether they will have to realize they were dealing with a sleeping giant instead

Maybe if the US could stop underestimating the enemy, one day they might actually win a war. Do you really consider them cannon fodder considering the media made them out to be clueless starving fools that could not operate their weapons and yet here we are nearly 2 years later and that cannon fodder is still there. Looking at the way Western leaders are willing to shunt international law makes me realise just how much credibility we in the west have on international stage. Never in my life have I felt so ashamed to be a westerner. The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation. They've seen their land steadily devolved and plagued by violence. There economy stifled. Their family displaced and holmes demolished. The hope for a political solution has been vanishing. The grievances of the Palestinian people doesn't justify the appalling attacks by Hamas and those appalling attacks cannot justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

@totalplonker "Looking at the way Western leaders..." Both the UK and US are making a stand on values here and such values don't include woke, anti-western victim cloaking. On the very day of proclamation of the state of Israel, the day the the UN carved out a considerably smaller area of land for Israel than now, the Palestinians launched a military attack on the fledgling state. Since then, there have been around 7 offers made to the Palestinian people, by Israel, of providing a homeland for them, all rejected. Even now, Egypt won't accept Palestinian refugees. They are treated far better by Israelis and Westerners than by their leaders and their neighbours. Don't be taken in by left wing propaganda, there's no shame in being a westerner.

Re-Taiwan, your guest uses CCP rhetoric. Unification is a CCP Term, used by those aligned with CCP's genocidal totalitarian, and colonial interests. War and the threat of annexation by force is not Unification. It is unilateral action, first entailing military maneuvers to annexation the outlying Islands closest to the continental coast. Next will be an air and sea transit blockade and then invasion of the main Island of Taiwan, a country of 23 million, a thriving democratic state allied with the US and Japan. The blockade would shut down the Taiwan straight and stop 1/3 of the worlds trade devastating the economies of US allies, S. Korea, Japan , Taiwan, Vietnam, and the Philippines, as well as CCP China.
