@@chrise842 yeah, permaculture for the win. Designing a course myself to take there. I am sure Tim and Crissy would also be informed of previous failed foreigner ventures with raising pigs, chickens etc.. Very tough endeavour. As for the datingsite link, any other one you'd need to be very determined and a bit tough on screening some. I went through 4000 profiles as part of a sudden new task on my job (kind of a troubleshooter with logistics, small business) and luckily found surprising gold I nearly missed; a very well educated and gorgeous Filipina. And wonderful family. The site above might save you a lot of hassle though... My discovery was a miracle and nearly lost her due to a bit of damage from many others I chatted with and a temporary bad attitude... hahaha. Anyway, great vid! Can't wait to setup some Permaculture there as PH guv are big on agriculture now and the technology and setting seem perfect for each other.

Congratulations to both of you. I'd like to give you some advice. I grew up on a farm. You and Krissy are not ready or able to cultivate the farm now, farmland over grows quickly. A way to prevent this is , rent the property to a farmer, not by the year but by the growing season. You don't take money for it. you take a parentage of the harvest. this way even a poor farmer can afford it, if he does well you do well and visa versa. this keeps your land in good condition. 20% is about normal.

Always a good choice to purchase land for the future, and the land that you have chosen has lots of potential. However, land needs to be used and maintained, especially rice fields, for IDLE land will eventually revert back to land covered with THICK BRUSH. So, if no one is going to plant rice on your land, or till the land for another crop, then your best option is to have cattle or goats to keep the excess vegetation grazed, and be sure to keep the grazing animals away from any coconuts and bananas and fruit trees that you may plant in the future. The land is mostly flat, except for the raised rice field partitions, and appears to be very fertile, which is PERFECT for growing all types of fruit trees and vegetables too, as long as there are people there who can take care of whatever is planted. In addition, try to avoid building fences, if possible, and just respect and earn respect from your new neighbors, for good neighbors look out for each other. Your and your family are very fortunate to be able to purchase such a wonderful parcel of land at a nice location. The land may appear to be ISOLATED now, but in time, you and the other owners of the other parcels, will be able to cooperate with the local barangay and have a good road constructed on the shared "right of way easement" which will benefit the whole valley. I am looking forward to seeing how you and your family will develop the land in the future. Good Luck with all of your investments. I enjoy watching your videos. Amping (*_*)

@@TimKyoutube I'm looking for farm land myself in Eastern Samar. I have my wife raising pigs just a few for now because Im still working stateside. It's pretty cheap to start if you build the pig pens with locally sources materials like bamboo. Piglets prices are going up same with the cost of feed. Its about 3500-4000 php per Piglet. You can sell them in 3-4 months for 10,000-12,0000 php. If you raise to full size it will take a year to reap profit from each pig but the weights will be much higher.

Looking at the layout of the land, the fact that it is flat and there are old ridges or bunds dividing the plots plus some of the old material left standing suggests rice was grown there, a creek at either end is perfect for growing paddy rice with squash on the edges, share farming might be your best option. Depending on your finances, you could agree to provide some of the inputs for a greater proportion of the profit.

It's good to buy land. We bought our 2 adjacent farm lots 19 years ago priced 150 pesos/ sq meters and bought over a hectare with overlooking portion to the city. Now there's an international airport to be constructed 8 kilometers down and the price of the property shoots up at massively ridiculous to 3000 pesos/ sq meter. Construction of buildings and businesses going uphill too getting urbanized now and more expats coming up the to live in the area. There are several options to do when having a land, it's a good investment.

Egg Plants, Squash, Papaya, coconut, rice etc. just maximize the land space. Profits sharing it depends on your agreement with the farmer. So Timoy good luck on your transition from SoCal surf dude to Filipino land baron! A couple suggestions if I may. You mentioned that you have a land attorney that you used on your first property. Spend the fee to consult with them on two things, water and squatter rights. Sometimes water rights need to be in the deed. If you plan to use the existing stream for irrigation you don’t want someone upstream deciding to grow rice and drain that stream. Also you might decide to put in a well for water on your land, make sure you have the rights for that. It’s clear that you already have a squatter on or very near your property. Find out your rights to evict as soon as possible. Good idea to use Chrissy’s dad to assist with those things. He speaks local dialect plus you’ve mentioned that he’s known and respected. When you own land you can’t be Mr Nice Guy. It’s essential to be Mr Hard Ass or you’ll be taken advantage of. Even if it’s not your nature, it’s essential. Never, ever forget that! Good luck, my friend. One last thing, keep good relationships with local baranguy leaders. Put them on your Christmas list. A small annual gift of nominal value works miracles in the Philippines! You can bet the squatters won’t do that. ✅

Yeah good advised man! Definitively water rights, title and property rights must be settled clearly by law. Btw, the new PH admin gov is modernizing agriculture. Good luck with your land investment!
