Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying this TG series. I have had several questions from the last video which I hope to answer in this one but PLEASE leave me a comment below if you have additional questions!
My cutting mat it from this Etsy shop. I've had it for two years and am very happy with it. She has several sizes.

I love the way you beat these patterns into submission 😁 All kidding aside, you demonstrate beautifully that you can THINK your way through a project. Beginners are often too scared to do that and proceed on blind faith, then despair when things go wrong in mysterious ways. Experienced sewists aren't witches with magic power. Present company excepted, of course.

Gini, thank you for doing the TG Fit Series Part 1/2. I have learned so much about fitting a lagenlook garment and still keep the style. Also, love your end result for your Yuki. Does chiffon work for layering? Your first Yuki with the outside casing would be a gorgeous interpretation. I’ve watched TG sew. She just cuts, sews and adds patches as she goes. Even her top stitching is unique. You and TG are very inspiring ❤

chiffon works great for layering I usually like it as an uderpiece as opposed to over things but it can give a lovely etherial feel to an outfit.

These two videos were so h❤elpful. Seamwork has a pattern called Bo which is a simple top with a short grown on sleeve. I can’t wait to remake it with my measurements against the patterns measurements. Thanks for the tips.

Fabulous video. I just love how you altered the tunic and put the front pleats in, looks really great. I liked your advice re measure yourself, measure the pattern and baste/try the darn thing on as you go. As well as your advice "be prepared to adapt as you go" (or words to that effect) I'd add trust yourself/trust your skills, you (any sewist) can make the necessary changes. I think we can get so worried about making any alterations "technically correct" but I think the name of the game is having a garment fit YOU the way you like it and being chuffed with the result. Like Tim Gun says "make it work". I'm going to remember these wise words next time I'm struggling with something that just isn't turning out how I thought it would🤪. Regarding your comment to a viewer about how to make the back sit a little longer in a garment, actually I never mentioned it (forgot to) that on my Suzy Dress by Hubba Ding Patterns that I love so much I had the opposite problem. The front hem sat a little higher than the back (and not in a 'hi low' way😉) I felt it made me look a little pregnant! Because it was already so long on me I just left the front as it was and eyeballed where I felt it was going hinkey around the hem and started grading there all the way around the back so that the hem sat straighter all the way around. If I look at the dress on a hanger I can actually see that it is longer in the front than the back but there is something about how it sits on me that takes up the extra in the front however after the hem grading when the dress is on it looks right - and how it looks on is really all that matters. I got your lovely message on my last video. Thank you! We are making good progress, I need to do a quick video very soon!

that happens in the front when you have a larger bust sometimes, in the back it's usually a rounded shoulder or a large bum 😂either way I think your solution was the way to go. Glad you guys are getting on with the move I can't imagine moving THAT far!

garment riding up in the back(shorter) sometimes means you have a rounded upper back. if so, adding lenght at the upper back (round back adjustment) solves this.

thank you Teri!! I wondered if that's what the issue was and if a round back adjustment would work. 🤗

Gini, I can tell you are experienced in adjusting patterns to suit your desired look. Thanks again for all the lessons. Your sleeveless version is really pretty😊 I never looked at Tina Givens patterns before now. I think I’d like to try a few. The sale is nice. I see two tops that captured my interest. 🥰

I really like TG patterns because I think they're interesting and unusual. Many of her patterns are VERY similar so you really only need a couple to play around with. Let me know if you end up trying any. Also, I meant to leave a comment on your reversible apron video which I thought was GREAT!

Hi Gini, another great video! These pattern adjustments are priceless. A special thanks for the high back issue. Another commenter suggested a round back adjustment. I will have to look that up. Your suggestion makes a lot of sense, I will try it🤗😊. I like that you showed a pattern,Yuki, that has a grown on sleeve and a sleeveless version. I am usually cold and yet I don’t like the fit of long sleeves unless the fabric is very soft and a bit stretchy. I usually prefer a 3/4 sleeve, it is usually more comfortable, and with my arms being short long sleeves rarely fit right. I also like to add sweaters to make adding and removing layers easy. I love your finished dress, and the color looks wonderful on you! When I was doing my measuring I also measured the length of a tunic that I like. I think I like my layers to end above my knees, it seems to be a better proportion for me. I am short enough that I try to avoid looking lost in the longer fuller styles. The slight hi-low hem is good too, it makes my legs look longer in front and the longer back keeps my garments still looking like a tunic or dress. Even though I have watched your TG pants video, I am really looking forward to your next video. I am so thankful that you continue to provide such detailed instructions and I also love your style choices and combinations. 🤗💕

I saw that comment about a round back adjustment and I think that's a good suggestion. Measuring a garment you already have and like is ALWAYS a good idea! I also love a hi-low hem for exactly the same reason. thanks Judith!

CUTE!!!! oh jeeze....basting. I think I baste everything, even though I never really want to bother. It usually ends up being a time saver. (and how many times have I basted something only to say to myself "well that's hideous...") Heheheheh. Thanks for encouraging flexibility Gini :)

@@thebigsewalong I was really glad that it turned out to be such a cute dress. Ha ha or a tunic it's hard to tell from the linedrawing. Has a cute rounded collar. There's probably some already made up on Pinterest. And the Jules coat pattern is incorrectly attached to the Abercorn picture, but that one's cute too.
