Oooohhh! 😍 they look yummy! I haven't tried "look choop" yet but I will try it if I'm in Thailand once this whole pandemic is over! Btw. P, please make ขนมลืมกลืน. (IDK if the thai characters were correct. but I'll sue my frnd it wasn't. Just kidding. 55555) Anyway, that's my fav. I forgot how my friend brought it from the TH 🇹🇭 to the PH 🇵🇭 I guess it was put in the cargo for it not to be affected by the pressure while the plane is in the air. Not sure. 55555 but it was so great and delicious! Nananana 🙏🏻☺️🙇🏻‍♂️ ♥️♥️♥️ from the PH

This surely brings back so many memories. When I was around 5 or 6 years old, just in elementary school (probably 2003-2004), I would tag long my grandma to the local market, and I would always ask her to buy this for me. We don't really call it by any name, just bánh đậu xanh, mung bean cake (mung bean khanom), and it was so interesting because it had different shapes. Not only fruits but sometimes animals, at least in my neighborhood. These things gradually disappear and I couldn't find them anymore in Vietnam, but always get some when I'm in Thailand.

I made this when I was in the junior high in Thailand. There was a class once a week that teach us like how to make food or dessert then bring my finished dish home for my parents and my grandmother to try. They laughed everytime because some dishes didn't look close to call that name. I’m really miss those moments. Thanks for the recipe it brings me back my childhood memories.

I watched your video and another Thai video to take in how to do this because nobody makes it here in Australia or is very expensive when I know someone that makes it. I used my blender and did the same. The wok definitely is required and I took about good 30-40 minutes depending on portions. So when you divide into 7g each, you might to re knee them as it might be a bit dry and might have cracks if you don’t redo by rolling and making them smooth then start shaping them. Colouring Be smart! Do yellows, mangoes, lemons etc, add some red to become orange than do oranges and carrots that saves you wasting colour Agar agar powder, but the Thailand brand as the cheaper ones don’t set as fast and the Thai version is really good. Thank you so much for this video.

Hi Pai and Adam, You were right you didn't sell it very well. With the last comment 4 hours to make 16 little fruits but it's not the efficiency we are looking for. It's the participation especially with kids. And this also makes wonderful gifts.

My first hand experience on the bean: don't make too big of the batch in 1 go that it overwhelms the wok, it makes it difficult to stir and some part will burn don't let the it get to "very bubbly boiling", I got burnt by splashing bean paste for that edited: for the leaf in many recipe I see they mention ใบแก้ว (Orange Jasmine, Murraya paniculata)

Great video very helpful with good tips. Thank you. I have been thinking of trying to make these again but it does seem to take a lot of time. They are so cute and I love mung bean paste so I hope to make these soon. Last time I attempted I ended up just putting them in small different shaped molds for ease and no agar agar or just eating the paste. Every thing you mentioned is so true. Your video was fun to watch. I laughed every time you did. Your fruit turned out adorable. Great idea with the real leaves! Glad I found this video, it now seems more doable.

A tip for anyone who wants to try but doesn't want to spend the time...turn it into a once a year holiday treat! As a prep for any given holiday (or birthday) you can spend a day with the kids or spouse and make them. If it's a tradition, it's not such a chore. But a fun memory to look forward to every year 😁 or you can give it as a gift. Especially if you make the dough in advance, you can watch a show while rolling the shapes!

I’ve never known it was this ‘doable’ to actually make luk cup. Since living in NZ it is very rare to discover or find authentic SE Asian Cuisine/Desserts or source good quality authentic ingredients, but to know that I am able to make one of my childhood favorites is amazing! It is definitely a labor of love but the outcome is outstanding and so heartwarming! Are you familiar with Lapis by chance? If you’re able to please do a recipe to another of my childhood sentiments I would be over the Moon! @@adamthehtkminion6750 I’m in the Netherlands, marzipan is a typical holiday treat around Christmas time. Bakeries will often have a huge one in the shape of a pig (why?!), or small ones in fruit shapes. From the big one, you can then purchase a slice. But marzipan is a love-or-hate treat here too.
