The Auto-White Balance is detecting your off-white door under yellow light and thinking: “I think that’s what pure white looks like in this scene. Lemme change the overall color temperature to match that.” Or it came factory standard with a preset for a room with natural light or under office lighting. If you swap to a different preset (like Incandescent) or manually adjust the Kelvin value, it’ll be fixed.

This was a fun informative vid john. Sidenote, if you liked the mix of 2d and 3d art, might I recommend taking a look at Demon Turf. It's a 3d platformer somewhat inspired by mario 64 movement. It's pretty quick fun.

I have an immediate fondness for this recent...well, I wouldn't say trend exactly. But this is like the 3rd or 4th game I've seen in the past year or so with this specific type of 2d character in a 3d world style, and I just instantly love it every time I've seen one of these games with this style.

This reminds me of this one indie game you can get on the Indie game pass that also has similar Pikmin vibes except it's a top-down 2D game and there are "Spritelings" with each a different gimmick like one is a elemental or another is a special glowing one.

Yea I had soo much fun with this game. I love the exploration and how genius they tie each level together with shortcuts and traversal. Love the soap bar too for going fast and grinding rails.

I think Demon Turf did the 2d artsyle in a 3d platformer better (aesthetically) as they put more detail into the animation, including designing the main character looking forward instead of always facing the camera like in this game. SwitchUp did a great review of that game on switch

Well Johnny, you and I don't explode in water because your skin cells have evolved to compress when absorbing water, when wet. Perhaps he is so small that his cells can't compress or shrink themselves more, so he DOES just EXPLODE in moisture when he gets submerged in and absorbs water.

Def enjoyed this demo, hope they add some enemies tho. Cause I did feel it got a bit empty without any badguys to interact with. No need for any advanced combat, just some simple enemies to throw your kin at.

Demon Turf has a 2D sprite on 3D that can turn around. Thinking about it, even Paper Mario had a backside. The fact there's a fully animated bit not bothering to animate him a bit more makes it feel too incomplete.

art style looks like doom rendering if they designed it specifically to highlight its shortcomings, hope they fix it, think srb2 is a good reference for what they would do but its even down to how from a higher angle the sprite is designed to look like its from a horizontal angle, this is why you use models for a 3d platformer
