Awesome hearing from you both again this year! 👋 Agree it’s been a weird start to the season for sure. Been out three times so far & it’s been lots of daytime miles hunting, only 10:00PM-4:00AM bites and 3 two-outs-bottom-of-the-ninth luck to hook & land a few 100+ fish. Oh and the fish are fighting really hard in this cooler water 💪

There hasn’t been a lot of day time action so far. That usually comes into play for run and gun quick day time stops where the fish aren’t sticking to the boat and the bait needs to get down fast.

Capt Steve and Catalina what is your preferred method on attaching a night time jig? I have solid braid and can't decide on wind on leader or the solid braid to shock leader?

I like solid braid to a couple feet of heavy leader straight to the jig but there’s no right or wrong answer as long as the connection is strong

130-200# generally is enough for bigger fish. You can also buy pre-rigged set ups from the tackle shop as well!
