Hi Katie, I’m 52 this month and this will be my second attempt at going gray! The first attempt was during lockdown here in the North East UK and I’ll be honest it was a mixture of impatience and other people judging me and putting me off that made me apply another box dye!! Now another two years in I’m honeslty just so tired of colouring it every month. My roots appear if I’m honest after one week and having dark brown hair it’s not easy to hide anymore😢 so I’ve pretty much given up the fight of chasing those grays 😮My hair is honestly a beautiful silver white colour which I’m excited about coming through this time around! I must admit that my mindset is different this time and I feel much more determined after watching many videos😊 I thought that maybe joining a group may help as I would imagine other silver sisters support and encourage each other. Sending hugs 🥰

Hi, Samantha! I completely get it and I'm sure you'll have a better time around with your new mindset. It's no fun going gray when you're not feeling quite ready. I hope you have a great experience this time! If you get a chance, you should join these two Facebook groups: Silver Revolution and Grombre UK. Enjoy!

I colored my own hair blue black and it was a chore I dreaded every 3-4 weeks. I started using the color powder to extend the weeks and that felt dirty making me wash it more than 1-2 times a week.I did feel like I was doing it for others, not myself. For what? I’m 60 with 4 months into my transition, I don’t care what others think anymore however, I do feel washed out on most days so I wear brightly colored tops and lipstick with blush if nothing else, when feeling that way.

That’s a great solution! I don’t know if you like lipstick (I’ve been a fan since I was a young teen as I have basically white lips), but a bold lipstick can look fantastic with gray hair. ❤️

I love these videos with you chatting. Sorry to hear that you have an issue with your shoulders. Hopefully it’s not a constant issue. I have arthritis so I too have to do work around sun many areas of my life. Thank you so much for all of the product recommendations!! Exactly what I needed. Have a nice weekend. Happy 31st anniversary!

Hey, Katie! I didn't get to watch this live, but I just now saw it and I loved it! Thanks for doing this and thanks for all of your great tips and advice! I am now in my eighth month of growing out, and I am just loving, like you said, how shiny it is, how soft it is, how healthy it is! I co-teach with a lady who has already grown her hair out and it's so beautiful! So, every time I teach with her, I get to see how awesome mine is going to look and that is so exciting! I also do the ponytail trick quite a bit because then I can only see my silver and it makes me feel like it's already grown out- ha ha😉😊 One more thing - You are extremely funny and I love your sense of humor!

Thanks, Tonja! So glad you liked the video! And it’s great that you have living proof (at your job) that gray can be beautiful! And thanks re: my sense of humor. I don’t think it always come through in my more formal videos but I’m starting to loosen up a bit on camera so that’s great to hear!

I'm four months down not coloring my hair with henna. I'm so glad I came across your channel yesterday. I'm watching them all until I catch up to your latest videos.

I am in the process and you have been a source of inspiration. This is the 4th time I try. I am a Latin brunette that thought that going blond will help in the transition but I am tricolor now. So I am waiting for it to be long enough to cut it short. If not I will not do it.

Great tips Katie and I appreciate hearing about yr journey as I listened today❤️. This is my 2nd try and am now 5months cold turkey. I have a pixie cut. Receiving only positive comments 😊 - got looks of shock and negative comments on my 1st try. I have 3 different colours in my hair with white being my fav. Using serum to encourage growth as I want white/platinum blonde all over. Using accessories like hairbands, bandanas , and scarves plus mousse and gel to jazz up my style. Checking out yr links🤗

You look great Katie and nothing wrong with notes 😉 I'm working on my authentic self after being married 33 years with 3 grown up children and a divorce. Anyone new that doesn't like me for my new natural hair colour really isn't worth knowing. Nearly 8 months colour free cold 🦃 and yes my hair has looked better. Thank you for such interesting videos ❣️

Now that I have decided not to dye my hair anymore and got rid of the bright red, I see a lot of older ladies with....bright red hair😁 But no thanks, not for me anymore. I have this nice dark brown now and let the gray grow!

Just curious, why you say Katie goes platinum. Why use that word instead of grey?
@KatieGoesPlatinum10 ай бұрын
Hi! I started on Instagram and wanted to choose a catchy handle - everyone else was using gray or silver, so i figured I’d use platinum, as in how popular records “go platinum.”

I've been fighting for a year, I'm soon to turn 56, divorced 2 yrs ago, feeling it will be harder to attract a partner? But, I'm so tired of sitting in a chair for 3 hours, dry, dead looking hair, and the money!

You might be surprised - many women tell me that going gray did not affect their dating life. And men often write into my blog to say that they love gray hair on women.♥️
