திருமயம் கோட்டை - ஓர் உலக அதிசயம் | Thirumayam Fort History with Sriram | Avatar live

Thirumayam is a place of historical importance located about 20 km south of the town of Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu. The place's main attractions are the fort and the Shiva and Thirumal temples. There are two famous rock-cut shrines Sathyagirisvarar and Sathyamoorthi, one for Siva and the other for Thirumal, adjacent to each other. These are located at the foot of a hillock on the south side of the town. The Thirumal temple contains an Octagonal sacred tank called ‘Satya-pushkarani’.
திருமயம் தமிழ்நாட்டின் புதுக்கோட்டை நகருக்கு தெற்கே சுமார் 20 கி.மீ தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ள வரலாற்று முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த தலமாகும். கோட்டையும், சிவன் மற்றும் திருமால் கோவில்களும் இந்த இடத்தின் முக்கிய இடங்களாகும். இரண்டு பிரசித்தி பெற்ற பாறையில் வெட்டப்பட்ட சத்யகிரீஸ்வரர் மற்றும் சத்தியமூர்த்தி சன்னதிகள் ஒன்று சிவனுக்கும் மற்றொன்று திருமாலுக்கும் அருகருகே உள்ளன. இவை நகரின் தெற்குப் பகுதியில் உள்ள ஒரு குன்றின் அடிவாரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளன. திருமால் கோயிலில் ‘சத்ய-புஷ்கரணி’ என்ற எண்கோண புனித குளம் உள்ளது.
