Only fault I find with this toy is I wish he had been given one of those 'Twin guns turning into a chair gun' armements instead of what he got, because my idea Chromedome dual wields red pistol like in the Headmasters cartoon... and they can store side by side on the roof.

There are apparently some later versions of Chromedome that comes with the Headmaster cartoon-style head found in the Takara version.

The colors remind me of an old G1 transformers toy I had as a kid... It transformed into a tank and had a drill though. I wonder who it was and if it ever got an updated release...

I just did a google image search and you're right! Man after all these years I've finally figured out what that guy's name was! I was able to find two "updates" on his figure, the cheaper one looks kinda... cheap being a retool with a tiny "drill gun" and the other looking slightly better but being 3X more expensive. I guess its because he's technically a part of Computron and they don't sell him individually. Dang.

This guy is better than I thought. I'd never gotten any copies of the combiner Wars Dead End mold, but I sort of got tired of it just from watching reviews of it. This does seem a lot better and more appealing to me, though. (Also can I join in on the gay robot shipping if I haven't read the comics?) (Also also semi-subtle Legends Chromedome review tease?)

vine1313 Check the pegs on the wrist for mold flash, little extra bits of plastic. There might be mold flash in the sockets for the pegs, too.

If only they were still making figures with same quality found in the earlier versions from the Generations line... I would be all over these new figures. Even still, seeing this guy in the store the other I was very much tempted to swoop him up. I just can't justify the purchase given Hasbro's reduction in quality and transformation. As much as I'd like to based on the expansive character releases, I just can't.

Honestly most of the TF toys in the current Generations line manages to have pretty creative transformations like with Twinferno,Triggerhappy and Topsin and the QC problem isn't as bad as before so really I don't think you'd be wasting money on these guys especially if they end up being among your favorites.

Yeah... They have improved the transformations as of late, but there are certain things I cannot get passed. The hollowness of the figures is another big issue. I cannot stand the hollow forearms, or hollow leg cavities most of these releases have. So I guess when I say transformation, it's those issues I'm mainly referring to, which could easily be solved with just a couple more transformation steps.

They're doing a better job at hiding them lately though. There's also the fact that the reason why they exist was because Hasbro's trying to reduce the plastic count for stores to accept them since with the economy going up they have to make sure stores will keep carrying them otherwise they wouldn't be at retail stores. Also some of the older figures had them as well.

But the Takara one has the g1 head, and I don't give an ever loving shit about g1 Chromedome. I like the IDW styled head.
