My number one thing that stops all pain is stop resisting and chasing a cure. The second you chase a remedy is the moment the pain increases as you are resisting. Stop solving things and just allow your being to be. Be the space of awareness for the pain to be :)

How do you teach the brain there is no danger?
@sparkely1122
@sparkely1122 4 күн бұрын
when you feel pain do somatic tracking. When we’re in pain we tend to run from it, distract, have panic or anxiety which shows your pain it’s danger. If you do that opposite, go to the pain witness it (somatic tracking) this shows the brain oh, it’s not actually dangerous because we’re not running away. Talking to the brain is helpful too. No we’re safe. It’s ok We’re safe. What I’m doing right now is healing it’s healthy it’s safe etc

Wow, you could be my double, read the same books, same PT, mine started this past janurary after a UTI. Online CPPS courses, PT, meditation etc etc etc then I found Dan, gave up all PT, stretching, meditation etc, started riding my bike every day which consists of about 2 hours of heavy training, weight lifting daily and talking to my brain, listening to success stories and then the pain reversed, I started having more days with out pain then with. It’s, now most of my days are pain free. This last Friday though, left a job of 22years, staring a new one and my girl friend said she started seeing someone else. The Pain came back but very light and livable. Hopefully my recovery continues. I thought a broken heart is the worst pain, not until you’ve experienced pelvic pain. Hopefully one day I can live to laugh about it like everyone in these success stories.

You were fortunate to move over to a mind-body approach in such a short duration. What had you go that way? My story is similar just stretch it out to 1.5 yrs since that first UTI-like occurrence in April 2022. I moved over to a mind-body approach this February.

@@andrewfleming86 I’m farmiliar with TMS from 20 years ago, I used it to cure my back and shoulder pain from mountain biking and weight lifting which I still do daily without pain Once I got CPPS I started with the book reading on TMS again but wasn’t totally convinced it was TMS. But once every thing else failed it was the only thing that made sense. Then I found Dan and his KZbin coaching and that was the trick I needed. much better than rereading the books because this is a difficult pain for me to get rid of. Once I said the hell with the pain and started aggressively training again the pain became much more controllable. Now I have most days without it before it was the other way around.

Tom-Thank you for sharing your story as it came at a much needed time for me. Dan's coaching about anxiety amping up as the pain goes way is just what I needed to hear. I have been making great strides on my journey to get pain free since I joined his group coaching calls but I have found that my anxiety has been going up in place of the pain. I have old traumas that are coming up due to new stressful events that are happening right now in my life. Knowing that all of this will pass brings me comfort and hope but hearing this interview about how anxiety is TMS really helped it sink into my brain that I am not broken and I don't have to be fixed. I am weaning myself off of my therapist (who was needed at the time I started with her but now seems like she just triggers more stuff each time I see her slowing my recovery down). The best therapy I am getting right now is from the Pain Free You group where I have a family that understands what I am going through and is there if I need them with love and no judgement. This was a great teaching tool for me-Thank you Dan and Tom! ♥

Yes, Anxiety is still the result of the brain being hyper-vigilant. But it's not a whole new problem. Safety is still the solution for anxiety as it is other symptoms or pain.

100% agree with the anxiety being a TMS "symptom" that replaces "pain". In this stage and I noticed it. Work in progress. Just been told I have a UTI and GP prescribed antibiotics. I have real issue with meds and allergies. I think my body has turned a corner re infection, so I'm gonna watch until at least the lab results confirm bacteria. Each to their own but I need to be in control of I'm not broken.

Well done Tom. You are really far ahead in your journey. I know what you mean. Yes, things are not all gone, but there is so much more indifference and that's amazing. You are on your way! I also sit with my "things" 40 hours a week at a desk since 2,5 months since a longgggg time, and yes I also experience anxiety and it's far from funny but it's nothing to really worry about. Just f-it! Keep going man....great to see this!

Dr sarno was my first, i went to him in 1991. My backpain went away fast, but suffered till i found Nicole Dec 2019. Yes, she explained this info in a way that finally clicked for me. I found Dan soon after. They were my go to'. Yes, all their styles different. I love Dan's message bc its so simple. Practicing indifference as he speaks about was also a huge clincher. And by the way, good for you on still playing hard ball. My husband stills plays on the same league (35 & over on LI, he's their catcher, 64 years old & still going strong against the youngins.)

Addison’s forced me to learn more about adrenals and cortisol cycles. Cortisol is lowest 12am (midnight) - 2am then rises. Why many wake up 2am-4am. Peaks 8am-9am then drops slowly over day (few sml peaks). Morn cortisol should be 138 min (Canada). Chronically too high or too low it effects other key hormones. Chronic anxiety may lead to chronically high cortisol or revered circadian cycle (look up). Maybe worth morn/aft cortisol test (blood not saliva for accuracy). Severe imbal’d cortisol levels can be serious. Don’t self dx or treat w/Google or assume ‘adrenal fatigue.’ Organs don’t get tired and not why cortisol is low.

Also Dan I do have a lot of worries, my son which I've mentioned before and also not being able to work at the moment and am wholly responsible for my home and the bills, so I worry about it all and all the what if's and what if I get sick and nobody here to take care of me. Feel so afraid and don't know if it's possible for me to get better here on my own. All the fears and worries driving pain and anxiety and insecurities of looking after myself. I don't know how to return to who I once was before all the stuff with my son.

Pain and anxiety, anxiety and pain, chicken or egg. Pain gives me anxiety and anxiety makes me tense and gives me pain. I don't seem to make any progress with one or the other and nervous system in chaos all the time. Very small life and full of fear and tears every day and stuck in head with worry of my future. The anxiety cripples me and wants me in bed all the time and horrible brain fog/unreality is scarey too.

My symptoms started 2 years ago. Intermittent stinging, zapping , burning pain on the right side of scrotum. 1 year later the pains spread to the left side to. Fast forward to today, penile and groin pains have joined the list. Urologist did urine sample, prostate check and scrotum ultrasound. All negative. Sti check was negative. I’ve been implementing dr Sarnos approach for 2 weeks, to early to determine if it’s made a difference. Tried a chiropractor for 3 months and it made no difference, went to pelvic floor physio for 5 months which made no difference. Feel free to ask any questions.

All evidence is pointing to TMS or as I call it Perceived Danger Pain. The best place to begin is here: www.PainFreeYou.com/start Go through the resources, watch the videos, take the assessment.
