With RP, both parties need to be in agreement on major story points. Marriage, pregnancy, children etc have to be discussed in depth, not dumped upon. Not to mention RP with “dark” elements as it can be triggering. Finally if you have to constantly mention how selfless you are, that’s a red flag😊

As someone who has been in the RP world since all the way back in 2009 with deviantart to leading up to now doing rp in game and in some servers definitely you need to have consent and communication between all parties. There can be some things thrown in randomly for chaos like silly crack plots that somehow turn into more serious rp sessions like when the nudist cat man in the rafters gave a friend handcuffs that were used to cuff mine and my bf's characters together only for the wholesome lesbian lalafell owner to cut us free leading toward our characters finally having their first proper kiss and getting to ruminate in feelings but things like children, marriage, death, etc that very strongly effects the other party you want to have communication and consent. I've had past partners spring cheating plots into our rp out of nowhere without any communication and it being rather uncomfortable to have to deal with. RP is a collaborative writing effort between two or more parties and can be the most beautifully expressive and explorative mediums to enter but the things OP went about really shows there was no communication and a lot was pushing what he wanted onto his partners without their thought or even proper discussion. Hopefully OP takes a lil journey of self-reflection and growth to see none of what was done was selfless but rather of full selfishness and to mayhap have a better dialogue with his partners in the future especially if ic rp blossoms into romantic feelings and to never assume ic and ooc are the same things. Oops I rambled a bit sorry tend to do that especially on topics that are my special interests that i've engrossed myself in. Thanks for the wonderful reading Pathra. My only experience in this. Is some girl flirted with me and tried making me believe she liked me. Then eventually slowly stopped talking. When I tried to talk then she told me. She didn't like talking to me. She just wanted me to buy her stuff irl. Tried to talk her down from doing stuff like that. I had experience in what she was doing cause it happened in my life back in highschool. She told me. Guys have to buy gifts. Every week. I blocked and stopped talking. The second person. I tried helping her with her depression since her "husband" left her. Because she was too controlling. So I tried to help her so she wouldn't do anything brash. Refused to listen to advice unless it was in roleplay. Then just kept talking about them every second. Eventually she told me. She didn't like talking to me and only wanted to talk to him. I still stayed and tried to help. I can't just let it settle like that I care too much. She then stopped talking. Met some random person. Then unfriended me with no word. Doesn't really bother me much. But it is something that happened.
