Alyssa is a total rockstar, so talented & selfless. We never would have won these Olympics without her. Great young team, but lost without the drummer

So nice to hear from Alyssa and al her stories. GK's are underrated. She is probably our best in history. My daughter played GK/Back all her years at AYSO and high school. She grew to enjoy being a Keeper.

I grew up watching male goalkeepers and learned from them, then got introduced to Hope Solo. Since I've been watching Naeher, I can honestly say she is thee keeper to watch and aspire to be. Kids these days should feel honored to look up to Alyssa Naeher. Hands down best goalkeeper of ALL TIME! 🐐

I absolutely love Naeher - She has been my favorite uswnt player for a few years now. Her humility, class and talent are unmatched, and I'm really glad she has had her time to shine. All that being said I still think Hope Solo is the best keeper to play for the national team. Don't @ me about character and off field actions. I'm strictly talking about skill and onfield performance. Solo is the Goat.

Hello Tobin and Christen. I always respect Alyssa Naeher, but still cannot forgive her penalty save against England in the World Cup semi final. It was not just that Steph Houghton deserved to have a goal like that, nor that her husband played for Bradford City, the club from my childhood neighborhood. I just did not want that game to end. I later wished Steph could have had a World Cup final as I knew one of the MND charity raising former sportsmen who was involved in that with her husband. I always remember a really good interview Alyssa did just after the World Cup in France, where all the focus was on how that penalty save won the World Cup and I felt sorry for Rose Lavelle, who scored such a great goal in the final.

great show, thnx... Is Alyssa strongly CHI bound? did she had ambition to swap teams, especially in that period of time Rory was the CHI coach? If so, what would have been her choice, if she was solely to decide it ?
@Pumpkin-vg1ur4 ай бұрын
I think some of the pressure comes from fans post olympics hoping to see players like Sophia Smith and Mallory Swanson be superstar standouts with the solo magic of Chewinga, Banda and Sarr , receiving the ball and looking and scoring multiple goals every time they hit the field. You hear the crowd go off when Rodman gets the ball as though something has to happen but often she's simply doing her job and being part of the plan....I wonder if when she just passes it, there's a collective sigh in the stands. The US team wins because it has depth, strategy and although there have always been stars like Rapinoe and Morgan etc they're usually scoring goals off great team play rather than only solo magicianship. Take Trinity Rodman out of the national team where she is playing with the best team mates and she's a little less effective. Take Banda and put her in pretty much any team in the league and her goal scoring remains pretty consistent. She''s impossible to shut down because she's a freak (in a good way). Personally, although its exciting to see someone doing crazy solo streaks, I am more captivated by great players working together in a sequence of collective brilliance like an impromptu piece of choreography. The pressure of wanting to be part of something like that isn't easy to embrace or even initiate. That's a hell of a lot of pressure similar to what Alex Morgan has possibly been feeling all season. She's a brilliant cog in the machine but needs good players and effective gameplay to do her thing.

"[Alyssa] the best goalkeeper the USWNT has ever seen", Tobin lowkey shading Hope as her Netflix comes out 😅. I concur in terms of ability and more importantly her humility and being fully an honorable teammate. You can be an excellent player, but terrible person. But Alyssa is quality in both. That's her legacy.
@2195brodie2 ай бұрын
Well said
@mturner894 ай бұрын
The best teams thought rely on more than individual brilliance. They rely on quality passing and teamwork. Even at Portland, Tobin had other quality players that were relied on. If the NWSL had to start its season after a summer championship, would the season be pushed into cold, snowy weather at the tail end of the season. I disagree about Smith.. MORGAN WEAVER is a really good player (who should get a sniff for the USWNT). San Diego SHOULD BE as good as the sum of its parts. Is Crystal Dunn part of that generation?
@candacelong76434 ай бұрын
What are you disagreeing about with Smith? Weaver got a call up back in 2022 to the national team and hasn’t since. She will also be 27 later this year…
