Dr. Grande's analysis was very informative. In Texas, we have a group named Texas Equusearch and Recovery. They never charge for their services to try to locate missing persons. I had an older sibling with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (made life hell for most everyone in the family) so I've read about the subject a lot. They used to think 2 to 3% of the population were NPD. I don't know if it's on the rise or they just have better diagnostics, but the latest figure I read is possibly as much as 15% of the population. [Though the most authoritative figure I've read for Narcissistic Personality Disorder is from a book by Julie L. Hall of 7.7 % among men and 4.8% for women, for a combined total of 6.2%. (source: 'Journal of Clinical Psychiatry' - July 31, 2008.)] Even if it is 'just' 6.2% most of us will have our lives destroyed by one of these 'harmless looking monsters' at some point. I recommend everyone do some reading on the subject to help you recognize NPD persons. 'The Narcissist in Your Life' by Julie L. Hall is the most recent I've read, and seems about as good as any and a bit better than some.

This reminds me of the Runaway Bride (probably before you were born). A woman in Georgia left for a "jog", then went missing. Excellent analysis as always!
@Scoobylover79 Жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you. She's definitely going to claim "mental health issues"
@koolaidgadfly5132 Жыл бұрын
Straight from the get-go, as soon as this started to look suspicious, I thought she needed mental health care. Whatever may be available for her. The reason is, she didn't rob a bank and try to get away with a bunch of money that she didn't have. She didn't do anything logical. She didn't do anything age appropriate, either. She didn't do anything that you were expect somebody with her education level would do. So what else could it be, if not a mental health issue? If there is no help for that mental health issue, then there needs to be. Or else, are we watching this channel to demonize and wish punishment upon people who are mentally ill?
@BsTheLadynred Жыл бұрын
You can't just claim you have a mental issue. She would have to prove it for one, and also prove this has been an ongoing mental issue. Her charges are only misdemeanors and she doesn't have any record so she most likely won't do time. And even if she did the penalty is 1 year in jail max. If she claims a mental illness that will just make more problems for her because then she has to prove there's a history of that and she was experiencing this at the time.
@BsTheLadynred Жыл бұрын
@@koolaidgadfly5132 Actually like I said below, she can only claim a mental illness if she has a history of it. You also have to prove then that at the time you were suffering from that mental illness. You can't just claim that's why you did it. You have to also prove you have a mental illness.
@koolaidgadfly5132 Жыл бұрын
@@BsTheLadynred No, she cannot just blame it on mental health issues. She will have to be tested. But putting somebody with severe mental health issues in jail is just asking for more mental health issues. But from the beginning I thought the police were dancing around it and not charging her immediately because she probably has suicidal ideations and bought her little snacks and booked a hotel because she was going off to commit suicide somewhere. After eating her Cheezits, which makes me think it's suicidal ideation, not a real suicide attempt. Either way, that is a mental illness indicator, especially since some people who have suicidal ideation do go on to commit suicide. Wouldn't it be a shame if she doesn't get the help she needs, and if she had, she would have gone on to save hundreds of lives as a nurse?

How could she not have had help? How did she get away from the highway? She probably went through the bushes and on the other side, where the houses are, someone must have been waiting for her in a car. The police got there four and a half minutes after her phone call. She couldn't have disappeared on her own. As far as apologizing, if she didn't have an attorney she would never have apologized. He obviously told her that would be the best thing for her to do, so she said okay. It's really the attorney apologizing for her. She's a grown woman, not a teenager, which she is acting like.

A few days before Carlee enacted her hoax, she had a verbal spat with an exotic dancer whom her (ex?) boyfriend was currently seeing. I’m not sure if this was a new relationship or if he cheated on Carlee with this woman. However, the message that Carlee sent to the dancer went something like this… (Im paraphrasing here) “Why would he want you over me? Im classy, you’re trashy. Im beautiful, you’re ugly. Im a nurse, you’re a dancer. Im educated, you’re a fool. I have a good family, you come from the bottom of the barrel” Welp, it’s not difficult to see that the dancer is getting the last laugh here as Carlee has managed to make an incredible fool of herself and will probably never live this down. She really embarrassed herself and her family. I don’t think she ever expected to receive so much media attention and generate nation wide interest in her disappearance. I can’t image she doesn’t feel very embarrassed at the least over this whole ploy for attention. I feel badly for the girl. She made a really foolish decision and will pay a hefty price for it.
