I agree with you that she seems to have wanted to get the attention of a few people she was close with, specifically her boyfriend and possibly her parents. She didn’t expect to become international news, she thought she could disappear, freak her family out then show back up and be afforded extra attention. It’s clear that she lacks the ability to thing anything through, so once things got out of hand she lacked any kind of plan and couldn’t find a way to craft a story that made sense. Apparently her boyfriend has removed all trace of her from his social media so I don’t think her plan worked…

The boyfriend posting about how she is fighting for her life for two days and then he basically stripped her out of his life is the nail right on the head. It's OVER, honey! Your assessment is spot on. What weapon did he use?? A healthy young woman just gets "overpowered" without a massive fight? Did he choke her out, drug her, smash her head in, what?? Possibly. He was a kind guy not wanting to rough up her wrist skin though. But I think those naked photos was to up the ante WITHOUT any sexual assault as there would be no DNA evidence. That would have upped the potential charges and necessitate a rape evaluation kit.

Faken. 💀 Being a black woman, I didn’t want this to be what this eventually turned out to be. The moment I heard that there was just one singular call, being hers, reporting a “child” walking on the highway, I knew that this was a hoax. Then the video was aired of her car on the highway and she’s exiting, grabbing her snacks (that the kidnapper fed her) and there was no child. I think that this was pathetic of her to do. I don’t know if she thought that no one would care if she left other than her target (the bf), did she consider the street cams and ring cameras? She was blinded by attention seeking so badly that she didn’t stop to think of the end result and how idiotic she’d look once the details come out. I hope that she gets the help that she needs because honestly, that’s where all this stems from, her needing mental help. Glad that she is home and physically safe, but she wasted a lot of time, resources, opened a lot of wounds for those who have lost a child that were helping to chase her “diapered toddler and cheez it” hoax! Her poor parents, dad mostly because mum in my opinion seems to be the main facilitator of allowing her to get her way and not holding her accountable.

Good point! This likely even may have given somebody a NEW idea how to waylay people who otherwise would not stop or get out of their cars. If children are seemingly in distress, any "normal" empathetic person IMHO is evolutionary hardwired to let all guards down -> easy pickings for perpetrators :-((( This young, but adult woman should be subjected to heavy consequences for her irresponsible conduct! IMHO she caused immense material and emotional harm for her family, friends and the law enforcement officers. I am torn between two explanations for her actions: - she faked her abduction as a prank (like the Mexican influencer who staged kidnappings for TikTok - she featured some days ago on Dr. G's blog) by herself, or on a dare by an unknown person -> immature and insensitive - she has a histrionic personality, maybe combined with juvenile schizophrenia (hebephrenia) and/ or a dissocial personality disorder/ early stage of Münchhausen syndrome (each condition individually, but also in combination possible, inpatient evaluation absolutely mandatory IMHO) -> reckless and attention-seeking, high probability for aggravation over time IMHO, even more hare-brained schemes and involuntary involvement of other persons are to be expected *Regardless of the motive for her actions - by showing this amount of irresponsibility and contempt for the feelings and resources of the people around her she has IMHO forfeited her entitlement to continue her medical studies.* [Opinionated complement on topic: To involve children as a lure could even further increase the success rates for an ALLEGEDLY already existing MO. I remember that ca. 15 years ago several media reported and warned, that in sparsely populated areas in (TMK) the UK and Eastern Germany (bordering Poland) allegedly a similar trick was pulled: On country roads without much traffic motorists suddenly would come across seemingly helpless persons lying on the tarmac. When the drivers stopped, left their cars/ motorbikes and tried to assess the situation, they were assaulted by accomplices of the decoy, and robbed of their belongings. In response to the reports, initially referring to the UK, many persons came forward and corroborated the accounts. IIRC they alleged that something similar had happened also to them, albeit not in the UK, but in Germany. -> Disclaimer: At that time only limited research regarding the truthfulness of the stories was possible (furthermore, I am no journalist or law enforcer). The region's notorious characteristics are known throughout Germany, this is not a prejudice. I know several people who can testify that the claims are true. IN MY OPINION the accounts are entirely plausible. I believe that at least some incidents happened as related. Shortly after the emergence of the reports we moved to another country, so I Iost track of the topic. In hindsight it could have been a giant hoax, which I do not know. I could be wrong! Better safe than sorry.] {Typos = bonus ;-) }

I actually have found a child wandering in the middle of the street.... Her details were so ridiculous that I knew the story was fake. It was last summer in the middle of July. I was about to go walking when I noticed a car following a kid up the road. He was between six and eight years old. At first I thought it was a kid running from his parents. Then I realized it was something different. I dropped my dog's leash and ran after the little boy to get him out of the road. The woman following him in the car got out and asked if he was my child.. I told her I thought she was his. She was following him trying to catch him.. He was a nonverbal autistic child who had obviously snuck out of the house and gone wandering. All it takes is a second. And I did call emergency services. I called them as soon as I got the kid back to my house around the corner And gave him cold water and make sure he was under some air conditioning. And I turned on PAW Patrol for him. So he would stay calm because I was a total stranger. The police arrived about 15 minutes later and positively identified him as a child that was reported missing by his parents. That's what actually happens when you find a missing child on the road....

I agree. I don’t think she had a mental episode. I think she was trying to attract as much attention as possible until she realized how non-believable her fake story was. I think the reason she didn’t continue with her charade was because she knew somehow that law enforcement was unraveling her lies, and law enforcement in this case was smarter than she initially expected, and she had just enough smarts to know not to go forward like Jussie did. Jussie was more of a narcissist than Carlee, but I believe they still fall into the same category. They’re completely okay with making up lies for their own sick agendas, even if it means using valuable resources like law enforcement to do so. They both expected people to be unintelligent enough to believe their wild stories, and viewed themselves as having some ultra level of intelligence that would make it easy for them to convince people of their lies. I won’t be surprised if she ends up trying to gaslight law enforcement, the media, and even “white people,” just like Jussie… we’ll see..

That's what I've been thinking and you explained it really well. I don't think she did this with malfeasance in mind. She did some totally bizarre things. Why steal a robe and toilet paper from her workplace? She probably owns a robe. And, she could have bought toilet paper at Target. And, why did she do these searches on her own phone and work computer where they could be so easily found? And, the timing of some of the searches indicates that she wasn't sleeping. Did she not even consider that there might be cameras on the interstate since cameras are literally everywhere? Heck, I don't even pick my nose in my car anymore because I assume I'm being filmed every second that I'm outside my house. And, nobody in their right mind would believe they could actually get away with this (emphasis on "right mind") and have a positive outcome. A lot of the things she did indicate that she absolutely wasn't in her right mind. She obviously snapped. Maybe some compassion is in order here.

Here are a few of my thoughts on the Carlee Russell case: I think Carlee is spoiled and was trying to get her mother's attention. First of all, if a person picked up food for them and their mom and was only 10 mins from the house, the first person they would've called is their mom. It seemed like she wanted her mother to feel what it would be like to lose her. Also, she wanted to appear as some type of hero by trying to save a child and a good person by purchasing food. Her mother made a statement that she knew where ever Carlee was she would "fight her way out" She made a statement like this a couple of times during interviews. In Carlee's story, this is what she did. Something tells me that this isn't her first attempt at lying and deceiving people. You could tell by the(possible step) father's face. He seemed disgusted and wanted no part of the whole thing. Her mother seems like one of those, "my-kid-can-do-no-wrong" types. Now she can't deny she has a deep problem on her hands.

I don't think that she thought that this stunt was going to blow up so big and so fast. She didn't realize just how many people adored her and were seriously hoping to find her. How many missing black women have a $25,000 reward posted for her safe return? Let alone $50,000. She is embarrassed and ashamed and she needs to be. Time to grow up and pay the piper, Sweetheart. I'm so glad that you are home and safe and with the people who love you. You had such a bright and beautiful future.

Clearly she premeditated this entire hoax and was very cognizant of exactly what she was planning on doing as well as knowing what she was doing was wrong.. she knew she needed to lie to carry out her plan. The evidence of her own google searches says everything we needed to know about her premeditated hoax. How many REAL missing people actually deserve the response this con artist received.
@sandylynn2965 Жыл бұрын
Amen. It was definitely premeditated. And that's why she shouldn't dare use a sudden mental health crisis as an excuse for what she did.

I almost fell from my chair at 15:38. Every time someone mentioned her kidnapper having "orange hair and a bald spot" I thought of one particular person, and when Carlee allegedly reported hearing "a woman" talking, and later feeding her cheese crackers, I thought, "yep, she's mentally ill and thinks she was kidnapped by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The baby in a diaper was not a boy, it was Lilibet." Then you posted the picture you did. I was delighted and amused by the coincidence.

I fell for this and believed it was a mental health break based on the video of her vehicle riding along the shoulder for several 100 feet - along with the fact that no one claimed they saw a child out there and no child was reported to be missing. But those searches and her advance preparation indicated she was aware of what was happening and psychosis was not at play. Again, I always thank you for covering all of these cases and I respect the time and research that you invest into all of your videos.
