Geez, the entire cruise sounds like a nightmare even without the (potential?) murder part.

George was heavily intoxicated. The remaining guest was looking through the drawers for the supposed money. When no money was there he threw George overboard as there would be a report from the victim that an attempted theft took place. The conversation heard prior to the thump was the remaining guest trying to get George to reveal the whereabouts of the money. Small amount of blood in the room is evidence of assault of a minor nature...... Never ever tell strangers you have large amounts of cash at hand!

The wife had to be wheeled while intoxicated to her room at around 4 in the morning. Forgot she has a husband, yet she was able to remember her 8 AM massage apt.😮I wonder if the cruise staff had to also wheel her again to her massage apt.

This is how a roofy works. Whatever the drug does to you, it disappears rapidly, little after affects. For someone the size of the husband here, it wasn't strong enough to make him fall down; as for the wife, it made her not only forget everything but made her not able to walk or stand up. It can also make your eyesight go partially black. There has to be a test/some way to counteract the effects. Neither one of this sad couple acted/did what was in character for them. Except befriend strangers, maybe. These boys were not friends. It's a shame the police officer nextdoor wasn't able to get involved; perfectly understandable tho. Imagine trying to get away from it all then having a room next door to a crime (not an accident) like murder and loss? Then zero justice for the victim and a huge payout for the wife. Anyone of the new "friends"; even the bartender (could have been tipped),could have put something in the couple's drinks; and pure jealousy/hatred of the good-looking rich guy w/the pretty wife and a cushy life ahead of 'em would be enough of a malicious reason to go after them, forget about the imaginary $50k. I hope people will wake up to the fact (as LE is well aware) that drug features often in cases of missing people, murders/rapes, and in venues like bars all the time.

@@HoneyHoneyBaby There are many cases of drug rape on cruises as well, trafficking of young women who are drugged and taken off the ship at certain ports.....and an Australian woman was found dead in her cabin after being drugged and then gang raped. The drugs and alcohol killed her. There was hardly any investigation and the men involved, also young Australians, were never charged with anything. They had taken photos of the victim naked, alive and then dead and filmed themselves assaulting her,......but they still got away with it. They had no remorse at all and laughed and joked about the dead victim. Her family was devastated.

Treated to two of Dr G’s poems!! A special treat 😊! The only surprise on this case was the Cruise Line setting the case for 1.1 million. There must of been a theory that the canopy design was somehow unsafe if someone fell from their balcony. Modern cruise ship design usually goes to great lengths to prevent anyone from falling overboard. Also all the hallways have CC tv on every cruise ship I’ve been on, I suspect the authorities knew the coming and goings of every person that was in that cabin. Also for ship security to not act on noise complaints in the early AM is very unusual as well.

Good morning, Dr. Grande! Happy March! Ahh, there's nothing like alcohol and honeymooners! And a bunch or drunks carrying on can always be amusing until some disaster occurs, which is usually fast in coming. And "'til death do us part" wasn't very long. I think that George and his new buddies got into a drunken brawl and George went over the balcony, which is not exactly foul play. Or that George was so loaded that he fell off the balcony by himself. At least George's widow made out nicely from the cruise company. Nice use of the letter "C" in your postscript! Agree 100%. He was drunk ( smuggled in Absinthe). One guy left, then the 3 remaining guys left. He was mumbling to himself, pushed the chair near the balcony wall, boosted himself up to catch a breeze and fell to his death. Same scenario for Amy Bradley. Her dad heard a thud, too, that awakened him. Anybody on a cruise knows how mesmerizing the ocean is at night and miscalculations happen.

It appears that there was a lot left out of this assessment. Namley the secretly taped interview of the 4 teenagers about the events of that night. They were all interviewed together. Their answers were suspicious and they lied about being at their room ordering room service and eating a feast, during the time it is presumed that he went over. Also, those same teenage boys are the ones that claim Jennifer was flirting with other men and that her and George had a fight. The interview with them convinced me that they are guilty of putting him over. Specifically when the one guy says "end of story" a couple of times to make sure that none of the others say anything that conflicts with what he said. Also, one of those same guys was accused of r*ping a girl on cruise. I say accused as it was on tape, but each jurisdiction claimed it was an issue for another jurisdiction to manage so criminal charges were not field (as far as I know).

I remember this case as I'm also from Connecticut, not as wealthy as Greenwich. I first thought the wife was involved, then I heard about how drunk they were getting and those other guys they befriended. I like you analysis and perhaps he just fell.

I enjoy the thoughtful analysis you provide in these cases, but what keeps me coming back is curious it’s about how you will manage to construct an alliteration to describe it. Thanks for these.

One might think that a 27 yo man would not be interested in associating with a bunch of juvenile delinquents while his new wife flirted with ship's employees. But that is what booze can do.

He was killed, no doubt, in my opinion. The blood, the loud argument, and the thud. Heartbreaking to see the bloody finger gripping marks, omgoodness. The wife kicks him in the groin, and her coziness with other men, whoa...!

Great alliterations! People that are heavily intoxicated do mindless things all the time, he could have easier fallen off that balcony. People also get into fights all the time because they are intoxicated and there is no clear explanation for their provocation.

That's wrong. You just don't fall off a cruise ship. The walls are sitting at your shoulders. You need to jump off if you want to leave the ship.
