Positive and Negative Reinforcement and Punishment

Thanks for this! I have a 4 year old and a 3 year old so I am working out the kinks of behaviors and my reactions to them. What would be the few situations in children that would be better handled through punishment rather than reward?

very interesting video, thanks! I was thinking, is it ethical to treat children (or humans in general) the way one might train a dog? (or in other words, is it ethical to apply the behaviorist approach to humans?).

It can appear a bit unnerving that clinicians would use a similar approach on both people and animals. If a clinician explains the nature of behavior therapy and obtains informed consent, I believe most clinicians would consider the use of behavior therapy as ethical in most cases.
