@TedBronson1918
@TedBronson1918 Жыл бұрын
I know it makes you want gag but you have to look at it like this - the judge is only handing him more rope to hang himself with. As the guy goes on with his antics, demanding things, farting/crapping in his pants, making dumb speeches, threatening people and stringing his trial out for weeks etc... , slowly the he exposes the the REAL him to the judge and jury (if there is one), and he turns any possible sympathy they might have had against him. As you can see, they threw the book at him with a stiff sentence. Had he played it differently and claimed a crime of passion or something similar and forgone all the melodramatics and weaseling with the money he might have gotten a lighter sentence.

2nd comment. Admittedly, Dr. Grande, I am a vulnerable narcissist, from a long line of narcissists. This conclusion was drawn from viewing the many videos from your catalogue, not just the educational themed videos but also those about true crime. Over the course of my lifetime, I have pondered what in essence was the main driver behind my behaviors, shortcomings, and abhorrent actions. Years of self sought therapy, diagnosis by respected psychiatrists, and working in tandem with psychologists never brought this to light. Either they were afraid to challenge me or I had unwittingly painted myself as the perpetual victim which they bought into. In conclusion, while I have now attained some insight into this one problem, I have not been able to make any substantial changes beyond trying to suppress my personality and trying to compartmentalize my life. I'm not trying to fool anyone, I'm just trying to act like a good person. When I watch some of your case files I see many parallels and marvel I have not done as much damage to others and society as seen with those. Thank you for listening Dr. Grande.

Thanks for the kind words all. It's very much appreciated. But, suppressing who I am at my core, unfortunately, has come with terrible consequences. I've completely lost my way. As I said, coming from a line of narcissists, and learning by their examples and believing the world existed in a certain light, I no longer know who I am or what I am. My compass was my ego. I have never known how to be any other way, I really don't know what it is to be a good person, I only have a perception of what it is to be a good person. When I talk about parallels, with some very disturbing people covered by Dr. Grande, there is sometimes a theme where individuals are exposed as actors who are empty vessels that portray what they think society would view as normal. I feel like that. And, although I have done good things in life, even great things, accomplished some great things in my life, it's those successes, and also failures, that were propelled by a massive ego that was also toxic, and ultimately led to my downfall and my current position in life. Now, I am left unsure what to do if I am no longer willing to be that person? Don't know how to recover and go forward without that person. The consensus among professionals is that there is no fix for this personality disorder. This leaves me feeling helpless and trapped. As it stands now, I've chosen to isolate myself from people, friends, family, any situation that I feel will trigger the emergence of my true personality. It's a difficult way to exist. Please comment

I grew up with a narcissistic mother, one brother, 3 Aunts all Narcs..then I guess I needed to punish myself more and two boyfriends who were Narcs as well. As a child I had never heard the word “Narcissist” so I just thought they were all “B’s” or “A-holes.” But the day I found this word “Narcissist,” that summed up all these UN-answered thoughts and questions for so long.......I picked myself up, dusted off as much abuse as I could, still damaged emotionally, but still believed in, What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger! I walked away from them all, which is the good part, but I not only don’t trust people like I once did, I also don’t trust myself as much as I should, now! Janet Roberts It's absolutely gross what many of them do and I recall my late father's behaviour, not to mention things I did for him, which my equally troubled mother was meant to be doing! I've also been reminded of a highly narcissistic man who used to call into a cafe I go to regularly. He stuck his fingers up his nose etc in front of me once, as well as other things I won't mention. I don't see him very often nowadays, which is a huge relief and he's lucky I didn't get up and leave, or tell everyone who knows him! I'm aware that I was conditioned to accept abnormal behaviour as a child, but I'm working on changing it. 🥺

@@cyndigooch1162 yes people are awful. One fellow would get on the elevator and adjust his masculine equipment every time a female got into the elevator, mind you it was daytime and the horror of it was he had family who worked in the building too!. The women I worked with were appalled with his behavior.

@@janetroberts5140 maybe someone should write a short horror skit about such a man being found hanging in the elevator by his equipment. Oops did i say that outloud? "Back firing" - laughed out loud on that one. In the military, you're trained with a rocket launcher in basic training. Part of the safety training includes a pre-launch announcement of "back blast area, clear" shouted for everyone to realize a rocket was about to be launched. That was my thought after you said "back firing" at the end. Good times...

I find it quite disconcerting that people with these kinds of personality traits are able to become police officers and the like, judges, district attorneys, etc. Police Officers are necessarily given a large quantity of power over the civilian population. From carrying an assortment of firearms, pepper spray, stun guns, tasers, handcuffs, etc. The nature of their work puts them in a position of extreme power over all others and it’s extremely important that police academies siphon out individuals who have these pathologies.

Good evening, Dr. Grande! My! Haven't you been the busy little beaver today! It might be sufficient to say that Richard Wills was a "romantic" narcissistic exhibitionist. If he couldn't have his lover, nobody else could. And by keeping her body around suggests that he was nuts as well. This particular video was humorous, despite the homicide. As for his farting in court, someone should have forced him to take Bean-o or Gas-ex. Thanks for sharing.

I know both Bernardo’s lawyer and his lawyer. Both of these cases ruined the careers of the lawyers involved. Both lawyers were given instructions which they followed on the advice of the law society practice advisory . However, when there was public outcry the law society went after both lawyers who never recovered professionally.

Also you can still respect cops and call out the shady abusive behavior. And their inability to take responsibility for their actions/behavior. Being a blind sycophant who worships them while not recognizing any issues is part of the problem. And it enables the bad ones.

One wonders how a personality like this can pass the psychological standards of any police or military exams. Just shows how deceptive people can really be. Unfortunately, it also shows psychologists, psychotherapists really "don't" have the ability to evaluate the human mind. Only make speculation AFTER the obvious is brought forth! Most of their "psychoanalysis" are intellectual, textbook theorems unless ppl have an overt condition in which untrained ppl even know!
