With the Dentist Office version you can simply spin the silver faucet 180deg to where it will face straight up, completely eliminating any dripping. I've actually been using this version extensively for over a year, and it's been sitting in my Jeep on a Reliance container, full time, being hammered down bumpy forest roads, 4wd trails, etc. It has 100% surpassed my expectations for reliability, performance, and the charge lasts an incredibly long time! I've never used the others, so no comparison for me.

Loved your idea and already built mine to mimic! One suggestion. Instead of a roll of tape, I actually got a 2" pvc plug (non threaded) at HD which actualy formed a nice snug fit to the bottom of my faucet (like your original one). I drilled a whole in the pvc and it's a nice clean install. I was even able to put the magnets on the inside of the cap so it's just a nice smooth surface! Thanks for the idea and reviews!!

My "dentist special" type easily has the metal tube get knocked out. Easy to put back in, but annoying. It also started to not work on my last trip intermittently, so I bought a back up that happens to be the four button. I also use a water storage that has its own spigot to have a back up to a back up. I have been using my set up as a pandemic/allergic to scented hand-soap hand wash station that is always with me.

I bought the same faucet as your original - per your build - I loved the idea. I haven’t dropped it (yet) and it seems to be working great. The splash is a bit excessive but manageable. My issue is creating a good magnetic attachment to insert into the base of the faucet. Mine works but it’s a bit sloppy. A closer look at how you did your attachment would be super helpful. Thanks!!!

I had built a similar setup a few months ago with the “dentist office” style pump. I chose it since the tube can come off and store more compactly, and tube height was not a concern. Thanks for the post, I really like your narration tone and tenor, very soothing and professional. Do you have an estimate of how much water the battery can pump per charge, and how often you have to recharge it? I'm thinking that it might be just as easy to plug a 12 volt pump into a cigarette lighter, if I have to worry about keeping the battery charged, as there does not seems to be any charge indicator on any of the pumps. I assume that they all use a similar battery, is that true? Also, do you know the battery chemistry and whether or not the battery can be replaced on any of the pumps? Lastly, it would be great if you could update with any durability information. I'm trying to decide if these battery powered units will function adequately compared to a 12 volt dedicated pump system for RV hand/dish washing sink.

The lack of water tightness in all four models is a bit worrying. If the water container was placed below, infection could be drawn back into the system. Here in the UK at least, that is illegal in a fixed domestic system so at best probably a health risk in a van, especially in warm weather.

I can see the concern in general for bacteria in a hot car but these are being used as designed to pump water from a container up through the facet, just replacing a 5 galant jug with a container.

LOL. This mentality always cracks me up. Just like backpackers who are fanatical about their collected water accidentally dripping a drop or two on their filtered side. Yet they will turn right around and jump in that same lake/river/pond for a swim and let that same water in/on their mouths. Sheesh.

Oh and can it handle warm /hot water dispensing?

Good question, I haven’t tried that

Did you find a reliable way to mount this style of faucet to a counter top?
@todd.parker3 жыл бұрын
A 2” PVC pipe fits in the base. You could use a flange or I wedged in a piece of wood and bolted a big magnet on the bottom. I’ll cover it in a future video

@@todd.parker Can't wait till see, I have a couple supplies now trying to figure out best way to mount with circular magnet and metal washer. Thinking i need to cut out proper sized circular wood plugs. Or create a pvc riser since my dentists special needs more gets anyway...
@todd.parker3 жыл бұрын
@@pjju2519 I wedged a 2x2 piece of wood in the base of the PVC pipe (was pretty tight, had to lightly round the corners for it to squeeze in) and added one countersunk screw through the PVC and into the wood to made sure it wouldn’t slide out. That gave me a flat piece of wood at the end of the pipe and I used that to mount a large ceramic magnet to the bottom - it had a hole in the center for a screw. On the surface, I just took a circle of steel, drilled a hole in the center and screwed that down to the wood top. That’s it.

I'm not sure I quite agree with your assessment that the tubing that comes with the faucet is garbage. It's more rubbery so it's flexible and not affected by kinks. Also, the little plastic part on the end keeps the hose from getting clogged at the bottom of your tank. But if you must use an after-market hose, and I can't stress this enough, make absolutely sure it is food grade. Otherwise, your water will taste like chemicals and you will probably get cancer. No joke. The warning label actually uses the word cancer.
@todd.parker4 жыл бұрын
I agree you need to get food grade silicon tubing. I just found all the included tubing to be super short and pre-kinked. Using the filter is a good idea!

Haven't people been drinking water out of hoses for decades?
@VantasticPacifica2 жыл бұрын
@@robertwilson1827 Assuming your referring to garden hoses, those are usually made of rubber and are ok to drink from. We're talking about plastic tubes usually made from polyurethane or polyethylene or some such chemical. Do not drink from these.

I have one usb chargeable pump installe on my van table. The problem is that is leaks from down, at the bottom. So I have to dry my table every time I have used the pump. Not nice. Anyone has a pump that does not leak/have holes or gaps in the bottom? My water backet is on the floor, so dripping from the hose is not a problem.

having a tough time figuring out how to attach ... with magnets etc!
@todd.parker3 жыл бұрын
Basically you want to attach a big magnet on the bottom then attach it up a piece of steel you bolt to the table top. You’ll need to cut a pice of wood to fill the bottom of the tube on the faucet to hold the magnet

Aren't all of these supposed to be above a 5 gal water bottle? Since your water is so high why not raise it 3" and use gravity? You can get a water tank with a spigot. No batteries,
