People hating on her response to fame are neglecting the speed of which her rise happened. Yes she’s been working at this for a while, but her rise since Coachella has been insanely fast. I love that she’s establishing boundaries and prioritizing her mental health and safety. It feels like she would have been happier with a sizable but smaller fan base instead of this huge mainstream success.

I do not think she'd been better off with smaller fanbase. People need to learn to behave. And I love her realness. Enough of all the glitter facades and doll faces.

There's nothing wrong with her, she's actually human. Chappel Roan actually got out into the world and touched grass, experienced struggle, built empathy, she got famous after gaining wisdom, and hasn't been famous long enough for this damn society's "Elitist" sycophantic tendrils to sliter their way into her psyche yet. She has empathy and uses her place of privilege to draw attention to causes rooted in compassion. She's confident, stands up for herself. It's as if sociopaths and narcissists maintained and built the foundations of our society on those mental illnesses giving you the proper audacity to exploit people to get ahead (this includes overseas imperialism, our own citizens slipping deeper into a dystopian hellscape), without having a conscience (this is both coins of the political spectrum). They perpetuate the standard of "normal, successful and stable" by shoving down our throats Kardashians, Sharktank, biopics praising "innovators" (Musk, Edison) and indoctrinating the masses into thinking this is "normal" and praising the 1%, turning us regular people against each other (we are the 99%), and turning artists who actually had humanity into shells of their former selves. Anyone who calls her ungrateful or "unstable" needs to take a look at themselves because they're a product of the system. Not enough people who get into a place of success take a moment to look back and ask themselves if they exploited anyone to get to their privelage and how to equitably give back. And she's tending to her psychological diagnosis. Imo this entire society needs an intervention and therapy.

I think Chappell has the capability of changing the industry in quite a few ways: 1) Blatant queer topics becoming hits. 2) Fun music ending this trend of mopey sad pop girls. 3) Artists making album that run the gamut of styles, she is unpredictable. 4) Live performances getting back to ridiculous and trashy 5) Artists creating an identity on stage that they never replicate in personal interview. 6) More indie artists/labels and DIY and less need for a big label. 7) Labels looking at the Midwest/South for non-Country music. 8) Melodic verses and bridges. 9) Boundaries with fans. 10) Calling out the paparazzi/news media. 11) Not endorsing a candidate. 12) Girl pop stars having each other's back. 13) Stars putting a focus on mental health over career. 14) Musicians truly taking on the scalpers/bots. 15) Artists being honest without PR.

There are more artists like her that already exists that dont get the breaks. I dont think she is doing anything thag would change pop music but hopefully serves as a reminder that we can get back to supporting artists like this instead of relying on tik tok make stars out of people who don't have the talent or drive to put out a full album of solid music. Her talent isnt new, her honesty isnt new. She actually reminds me a lot of Fiona Apple and her contribution.

@@tbam73You’re missing the point tho. The point isn’t that she’s the first or the only, it’s that she is doing and saying things that people that have gotten to her level, in such a short time, don’t dare to… while still maintaining her popularity. Which means that that sure there’s haters but they are more people sympathizing with her.

She IS right. There are problems with BOTH parties (and why only TWO PARTIES?). She is right. Fans CAN be creepy. Media is creepy and make money putting trash talk out there. I am 58 and I am super super thrilled to have her in this world. This country needs changing...let her rock that change.

Both parties are not equally bad. Look at the pervs and drunks t is trying to get through without vetting. They say: because t asked them to serve, that is vetting enough. Nope! That is subverting the system we have in place for a reason. I can't believe folks voted for the one who directed a coup on our US Capitol! r's are selling US out so he can join the oligarch/dictator club at our expense. What you mentioned is a false equivalency. I do however agree with the rest of your comments. The country will change: from strong and envy of the world during the Biden administration to beyond chaos and danger. But change none the less.

Love Chappel; connected with her lyrics and tempos right away; but ..man, I have to really hand it to her parents. She wouldn’t have been able to balance her educational commitments in the Midwest with her touring schedule and contractual obligations in Los Angeles with her label. What a huge leap of faith investing in “kid dreams” .. I was very encouraging with all my kids artistic endeavors and specialized interests …hell, I even let my clumsy oldest son “study” bugs in his room (lord help me lol) BUT to my point, I had no time for business trips, or bank rolling flights to support my kids dreams. Applause to Chappel family; great job to the parents and grandparents for lifting her up high enough to capture our attention. ❤ I can’t wait to see what she creates in the future.

But I can say their song only really hits some demographic... Meanwhile I saw Chappelle's Super Nova in Vevo's live artist song i had to open my KZbin tab to see who's singing because She's singing her heart out. Next I found her Casual Vevo video too. THEN i found out she's lesbian. I think that kind of impact really does contributed to her career since it's really rare to see actual lesbian artist with such confidence and way of singing

She's got the Taylor Swift and other progressive liberal armies backing her while coming from the laid back conservative traditional background that gives her a following that's bouldering down a mountain just by gravity alone.

Are u straight? I’m gay so let me tell you this: Being gay doesn’t always mean you’re attracted to the same sex, you can be gay and still be attracted to the opposite sex which is called “bisexual”. GAY is the general term for LGBTQIA+ community.

Most of what you said I knew, but I was under the impression she liked females only so I was taken back when the video said boyfriend so that's why I asked. The friends I have and have had used gay to mean to like the same sex. Bi to mean both sexes then there is nonbinary etc... But I am old so that's why I asked. Also, to understand something you need to ask questions right? I hope the best for you in your journey.

What you want can be hard to sort out when it’s tied up in so much societal… everything. Hope this helps a bit!

“And as a queer woman in a Midwest town” 1:40 Chappell told Teen Vogue that when her queer anthem, “Pink Pony Club,” came out in April 2020, she had recently gotten out of a four and a half year relationship. (Given the timing, that ex is presumably a man.)

Fans of Chappell Roan will love Sierra Farrell. A young Dolly Parton who can sing her ass off and has great lyrics. She also did a Tiny Desk Concert in 2023-2024.

Love Chappell Roan, she’s definitely NOT an industry plant but didn’t Troye Sivan scout her back in 2014?

Love that she stayed politically neutral. She’s right, both sides have issues. Hope her star continues to shine
