This is one of the best "What the hell is he doing?" videos that I've seen in a while. 😁

That was a very beautiful finely crafted useless thing.

That means a lot to me, seriously, thank you! I try to not put out "filler projects", only things that have some unique quality. I appreciate the support!!!

Such nice work! I love it when in the end everything matches so well.

I love your videos. I watch KZbin with closed captioning on because of hearing problems, and seeing the process discussed in the captions is always nice! (And that IS a beautiful walnut slab!)
@charlesdarwin15645 жыл бұрын
NoviceFae he puts it in closed captioning so it doesn’t interfere with the quality of his videos and also might not like talking

Nice... but it'd be simpler to make a floating shelf mounted on the wall that hung over and around the lid. Could mount or remove it with a keyhole or cleat
@elizadull5 жыл бұрын
I could totally use one of those! Good job.

What is that tool that resembles a drill press? It’s quite impressive. Normally broaching is a very labor intensive process. That machine broached your wood with the pull of a lever.
@AndreSB435 жыл бұрын
It's a mortise chisel drill bit. There's a round drill bit in the middle of the chisel that removes the wood.

Brilliant. Really nice and really handy. To many of these videos go to way too much trouble for what seems to be too little gain. That's ok. Different strokes etc. but this one is great. Thanks.

That’s some nice joinery, I do love it when function becomes form. If you cared about not wasting material, I guess you’d make the curved piece out of steam-bent timber.

Is it me or is there a pinkish hue in that wood before varnish that I just adore, Bravo nontheless!
@MeasuredWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I noticed it with this walnut slab, it almost had a lilac color to it, especially when covered in its own fine sawdust! Pretty weird!

I'm from MO and I've noticed that our walnut slabs often have a purple-ish tint, I'm not sure if all walnut is like that or not, but its pretty cool :-)
