Haha, the slap was well-deserved by the sister, too! I'm happy that OP's ex dumped her. OP does not deserve to be in a happy and healthy family dynamic such as that. She's toxic, bratty, and needs some serious therapy. I agree with one commenter in the video that she is too damn old to be blaming her parents based on how she was raised.

SHE'S 26?! I thought she was 19 or 21. She is WAYYY too old to be acting like this instead of just asking BF "oh, you know a lot about your sisters periods, is that normal for a brother to know that much? My dad never knew anything about our periods," and then a discussion can happen. And she freaked out the younger sister during an already stressful time and then has the audacity to be like "but what exactly did I do wrong????".

@@brkr78 Little sister AND daughter. Yes, biologically they are all siblings but he is also their adoptive father. He raised them alone since they were *6, 2 and 1* ! That's also how they view it: the youngest calls him dad and the ex told OP "you turned one of my *children* against me". For me, it makes things even worse because being a sibling is just a matter of blood, being a parent required a lot of work and sacrifices, day after day. OP threatened to destroy the trust at the core of that relationship. So when she says she could see in his eyes that he absolutely hated her, I totally understand why.

If he had said "hold it in until your sister gets back", she would have been clutching her pearls. Right??? And she’s 26! How do you get to be that age and lack so much perspective and critical thinking? Like, yeah, I might find it weird (as in unexpected, not creepy) if a brother knew all of that about periods/his sister’s period (mostly because who’s paying that much attention when you don’t have to? lmao), but a single father? I’d find it super weird if he didn’t know anything about the process and was completely unprepared to help his daughter through it. That’s just good parenting. And OP keeps going on about her mom being the one to do that for her and her sister… which is great except that it goes over her head that OBVIOUSLY they don’t have a mom to fill that role. So are they just SOL? And all of those feelings of weirdness aside, that her immediate response was to essentially accuse her boyfriend (whom she claimed to love so much) as a sexual predator… there are no words. Yet she still thinks she has a shot with him. Lmao. Delusional.

That's some world- shattering sh*t right there, and she's glibly "oh i know i made a mistake, but he'll forgive me. " He might have, if she'd said what she did in private. Based on what the op said, and depending on if this is true, I theorize that op may have been projecting a lot onto her boyfriend in a way she doesn't realize. She's attracted to him because he's very paternal, a very caring paternal figure one she might not have experienced with her own father. And maybe made him her proxy for an Electra complex, as his role as her lover and that paternal figure merged. I noticed that while describing her father's behavior towards them having their periods nothing about it hinted towards any of the things she accused her boyfriend of. How did she get inappropriate sexual deviant stuff from not being allowed to mention it around her father. Does knowing make a man a deviant or is fleeing the scene when it is mentioned running away from the temptation of impurity?

Although I am hopeful that because It was just over this and the sister was there to reassure her immediately, That they can heal from this and put this behind them. I don't think it will scar her like it did me. When I was 12 I was brainwashed to believe that my dad was inappropriate with me. He never was. This made any kind of physical affection inappropriate to me. It made me unable to feel innocent love anymore. Although it did work in my favor on finding my true love. He's the only one My body accepts As appropriate. By that I mean my body naturally rejects any kind of physical interaction with other people. It never did with my husband. It's part of what intrigued me with him. Is being around other people drains me being with him energizes me. He makes me glow and feel warm and fuzzy. I'm attracted to a mind-body and soul and I can't get enough Interaction with him. If everyone else my body naturally rejects. Sadly even my own children. Not while they were young, But as they are getting older I can feel the walls growing. I have to force myself to give them physical signs of affection. @wimsylogic65 I'm sorry you live with this. There is therapy that can help. Every reaction in our bodies comes from our brains. Our brains on 'high alert' are constantly looking for danger. The nervous system can be retrained to not 'overreact' and to interpret danger appropriately again. There are different methods of therapy (talking, hypnosis, the trauma-memory therapy with lights ( I can't think of the name, sorry) has good neuroscience behind it, & others...); also meditation and mindfulness practices can help with being present in the current moment and reacting to what is actually happening. If you can work with a therapist or psychologist who specialises in healing from trauma, they will give you tools to retrain your brain. Good luck.

Story 2: Demisexual means that there's just no attraction until a strong emotional attachment happens. A lot of people will say "well, isn't that most relationships" and - no. A guy can see a girl at a bar and say "oh, I'd like to take her home" and that is considered "normal". A demisexual person would not find any attraction until there's some kind of strong emotional relationship beforehand, so you may enter a relationship with a demisexual person and no sexual attraction may develop. Or it might. That's likely why the BF reacts the way he does: no attraction to the BFF as he has no real relationship with her.
@Frostfern94
@Frostfern94 7 ай бұрын
Thank you! From a Demisexual, I find it hard to fully explain what I mean. “Isn’t that just a preference?” Well that would make asexuality, Homosexuality, etc… “just preferences” too. It’s based on attraction. I can say someone looks nice or attractive but I am not sexually attracted TO THEM until that bond is made.
@ginathecookie

when hearing that i was almost wondering if Mark was referring to what the commenter said rather then what the OP answered because if so, I kind of felt the same in not getting what it was about. Of course those feelings would change after the relationship ends. The point was he didn't want to have sex with someone that wasn't his gf, point blank. And adding that he's demisexual just adds more explanation to something that, from my point of view, shouldn't have needed explaining. But it was nice seeing Demisexual rep in a story for once. My first thought was "hey someone like me!"
@AraAra6367
@AraAra6367 12 күн бұрын
Agreed. Sexual and romantic attraction goes hand in hand with the emotional connection needed for demisexuals to be attracted to someone to begin with. For me, there’s no immediate notice of any attractive physical features, either conventional ones or personal preference. In fact, I tend to avoid looking at people too closely when I first meet them and have some measure of face blindness as a result. I gotta bond with you on some level for me to get familiar with you, not to mention so I can even start to like you at all.

If it was a habit that was that important to her to continue she should have brought it up sooner to make sure that was something he would be comfortable with in their relationship.

She wonders how he knows so much about his sister's periods. I mean...because she and his other siblings live with him. He'd get her pads for her? And her being shocked that he'd know that she started her period at thirteen. He's had custody of them since he was eighteen. Meaning, he was the one who would've bought his sister pads when she was thirteen years old.

I wish I had someone like OPs boyfriend in the first story when I started my period. Instead, I ended up getting brutally bullied for my menstrual cycle every single month by my mother's husband and half brother.

And this is why the actions in the story should be normal and are not the weird, inappropriate response to NATURE that some people are raised to believe. It blows my mind that these attitudes are still so prevalent tbh. I was lucky in my upbringing.

Story 1: what an amazing older brother able to help while his sister is in a panic! Well educated, supportive. Not at all creepy, it's also refreshing he's not gagging at the mention of period (had an ex who did).

Story 1: I come from a family where my mom handled most stuff of that nature but my dad still knew and cared; he just rather preferred to let my mom handle it. So saying she was raised like that is not an excuse. OP is way out of line and way too immature for that relationship.

Story 1: OP was upset because he knew what a period was and how it worked? Are male doctors disgusting because they know about periods? He is basically his sisters father AND mother, he needed to know how a period worked. She deserved to lose him, and she deserved to lose her friends for what she said. She messed up bad and needs to face consequences. Story 2: not being sexually compatible is a good reason to break up, especially if one of the parties doesn't want an open relationship. Better to break up amicably than to break up due to resentment building

The brother explained everything so well and took care of his sister, it made me cry a little. I remember what it was like to get my first period, and I felt so much shame and confusion. That act and understanding, taking the day off and just hanging out, would have meant so much to any girl in that situation. I didn't realize the girlfriend actually called him a disgusting pig in front of his sister, I think that's the worst part of it all. By the way, what a lovely man. The way he went "you turned one of my children against me" and just had a zero tolerance to hurting his family like that, god. I needed to be reminded there are good people out there today.

In case anyone is not aware, I don't want to assume. should not flush feminine products down the toilet. It's Very bad for the plumbing and septic system. No judgment, if you don't know. just in case. Many are not taught That aspect of menstruation.
