As a Las Vegas local, Steve absolutley remind me of one of those tourists that come into town on a business convention and play those 1-2 game just "for fun", talking to everyone and having unlimited cocktail drinks. Usually , they blow it all at the end but they sometimes have ridiculous run too. Steve is the absolute mirror image of these conventioneer / recreational poker players. Generally, they wear their tells on their sleeve but I can't imagine to these high-stake games, it's just weird and off-putting seeing this kind of playing style lol
@johannessmithenstein5 ай бұрын
Yeah you can find like half the people at the average 1-2 table at the south point or the bellagio are like this. they stack their chips in stacks of 60 and do these small donk bets at completely random times. It's incredibly tilting when you run bad against them. I never thought I'd see them on a show like this. Are we back in 2003?

lol….being that bold and honest in poker throws everyone off at that level of play. I imagine players are 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th guessing their initial read causing their brains to scramble, making Steve completely unpredictable because of their own distrust! Genius strategy and definitely helps out bluffing down the road when you tell players what you have and then show them!

My take: Steve's banter is totally OK when heads up. However, if you're in a multi-way pot, you need to SFTU about what you have, or about how you want the action to go... about all that. That crack he made with his 99 when he binked a set on the turn with 2 players in the hand was completely out of line.

I used this min bet super annoyingly after I saw this and it dominates. Lost value a couple times but it just adds this weird dynamic that people think about and it seems to take away from their more important thoughts or something. Like telling someone not to think about an elephant
@kidc20044 ай бұрын
It's really bad poker. 👎 Enjoy betting 1% of the pot or less and not getting any value while you allow your opponents to suckout on you for practically free. It also allows anyone with a more marginal hand to raise and push you off a better hand. These tiny bets are incredibly weak from weak players and should always be raised for shits and giggles. Unless you just have a dog shit and want to call down what is basically a check
