On of the things I like about you is that you can separate the message and meaning behind the songs from the song itself. At the end of the day, not everyone will like the same styles of music or even the delivery and because of that, a lot of the time the message gets lost. Not with you though, you filter the stuff you do not like and listen to the words. The conversations that Tom's music provokes are long overdue in my opinion. Though I will have to say this as well, I think that it was better when I was younger. I believe that social media and the mainstream media fuels a lot of the division for the money. Back when I was young, and I am so grateful for this, I remember my mover teaching me about "race" I was in maybe first grade and she just told the truth. There is only the human race, what some people call race is actually ethnicity and the reason that there are "different colors" is because of where their ancestors were from, they needed more protection from the sun, so they have darker pigments. That is one lesson I will never forget and I passed on to my kids. I had great parents and they taught me so many things that are now just common sense to me but seem to be so uncommon in the general public. At least from what we see on the media. Anyways, thank you for your reaction to this and your insight.
@crazykramer023 жыл бұрын
The hate came from “Dear Rappers”. I appreciate your honesty and being real. Also I appreciate that you are giving Tom few chances even though his songs are not your style. He has grown a lot since the beginning of his exposure to the public. Keep in mind that it is just his girlfriend and him making these songs. Stevie, my guy, it's not called racism. We are all the same race, HUMAN! It's called hate, plain n simple. And it's rediculous brother smh. Tom's a good dude. I know him and his best friend Brandon Hart. They both treat everyone equal until their bad character shines through.
@LiLLaLa7073 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but this messaging has and continues to be use to never address the actual systemic racism that is the foundation of America. Also, knowing someone personally means nothing. If you feel the need to explain how someone is not racist there is definitely some mixed messaging. Ones actions and beliefs should stand on there own merit if they are genuine. That being said I appreciate and respect your personal opinion on Tom based on your interactions.

The fact that he made songs calling out the music industry for promoting bad habits and people immediately thought he was trashing black rappers is very telling.

Well best to him is still a 1-10. Stop pushing fake hiphop. Its taking up room on his channel. No one wants this gimmick

There’s no such thing as fake hip hop brother. Whatever is on someone’s heart and they want to put it on a beat then let it be. As long as it comes from a real place and not just hollow words. I’m 40 years old, I grew up on “real” hip hop. It’s time to open your mind up a little.
@Odyssey6363 жыл бұрын
@@christopherchandler2860 im astounded yyour 40 and still this brain dead. Theres 100% fake hiphop. Mumble rap is part of it. And this fake gimmic rap is just as cringe. You need to live some more because u havent learned a thing in 40 years.
@Odyssey6363 жыл бұрын
@@christopherchandler2860 tells me to open my mind bc his favorite artist calls his fans hangover... Sounds like a little to much alcohol has flooded your brain. Tom stumbles thru his songs to even sound half on beat. Not to mention his placement and opinion on everything he talks about is literally him just being a edgelord for views. To like tom you either have to be a insecure freak with no friends, an alcoholic, or suffering from brain damage.
@christopherchandler28603 жыл бұрын
@@Odyssey636 you are a salty little fella aren’t ya? Everything is a gimmick until it catches on. Just because it’s not your cup of tea doesn’t make it right. I can’t vibe with the mumble rap either, but if someone has a great platform to make awareness of real world issues then bring it on. I feel the same way about all other genres of music.

I kinda cringed when I first heard Tom BUT his message is like nothing before him he is the only one (that i know of) that consistently makes songs for the people i guess trying to bring REAL issues up instead of drowning it out wit songs about drugs and hoes and a message saying I'm better than all of you it was refreshing now I got his CDs and I follow him closely. Not a fan of his choruses but they grew on me over time
