He is almost 100 and speaks so eloquently and so modest. He served in the army during World War II to make sure all of us had a better world to live in, and now in 2020 he is still prepared to 'do his duty' and give us a better world to live in. Thank you for your service you are a legend.

@troll oracle Very true. So many people seem to spend their time looking for things to be offended by, so are too busy and up themselves to actually do something that makes a difference. Captain Tom puts people like that to shame, and rightly so. He doesn't have time to be bothered by silly things, or get stressed by being called by the wrong prefix. If that happened I'm sure a nice cup of tea would sort everything out, not a year in therapy. A true hero.

Same here. It’s so humbling, imagining what he’s been through and now he’s doing this. A lesson and inspiration to us all. I hope he gets a personal message from the Queen. He would be made-up if she does, he has the utmost respect and admiration for her.

In 1950, the NHS spent an estimated £460 million. For 2020 alone the Government was estimated to spend around £158.4 billion based on previous trends. God alone knows what it is costing us now. I greatly value the NHS and everyone who works/volunteers for it, but it is simply unsustainable and it annoys me when I see people constantly wanting more out of it.

Captain Tom Moore is the personification of everything that is good in the British people. Captain Jack Moore in his twilight years thinking again what he can do for his country in her time of need. I am astonished by the amount that as been donated, but not entirely surprised because the British people have a heart as big as a mountain. Because of your tireless dedication, you have elevated our NHS to an even higher level. If anyone merits a knighthood, it is Captain Moore. Great man, a huge credit to his exceptional generation and the training and ability of our armed forces, the best in the world. In America some of the biggest A list stars are offering private concerts, walk on movie roles and to co-host TV shows and so far raised about £7million. We in Briton have an owd chap walking around his garden and raised over £22 million on his own and isn't offering any prize to anyone.
