Great underrated song. Tremendous live performance of this song. This here is the best Heartbreaker lineup.

Saw them in Edinburgh on this tour - my first Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers concert. Stood outside the Playhouse on a cold December day and met Tom and the Band, Tom signed all my album and single covers and talked about the various artwork. He gave the handful of fans that had waited in the cold a generous amount of his time. Never forgot it.

Wish you didn’t have to leave us so soon Mr. Petty. The world is a better place because of you and the beautiful music with which you left us. God bless.

Tom Petty and the Breakers are my Beatles for the past couple of decades. TP is a genius musician, composer, singer, arranger, manager of his band....my gosh....how many catchy tunes and deeply meaningful or fun songs does this man have in him? Best rock group around for years. No praise does them justice. Proud to say I live 10 minutes from his boy hood home. I'm a musician too, so I go park my car in front of his boyhood home and just sit in wonder and priase............and get the vibes, man!!!!!!! He's made my life significantly more enjoyable. I play along with my various music devices (vinyl, cassette, CD's) with him and the band on my keyboards and pianos all the time. I add some harmonies. Many tunes just a few chords. But each one is crafted SO well...........so so well. If I go to heaven, I want to thank PT for his gift to us of his work and music!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you a hundred percent. I am just gutted over his death. I feel the same way as you, the Beatles were it for me for a long time, but then when Tom came along, he and the Heartbreakers took over. I adored them, such fabulous live performers. This past April was the last time I saw them. I had a weird feeling of a curtain coming down at the end, that I would never see them again. I never imagined this outcome. Their music saved me so many times, Tom was a genius and the band was incredible. The musicianship was top notch. I will never recover. I love you Tom Petty, wherever you are, I will always love you. God help his family, his band and his friends.

I so totally agree with all you've said. I'm still devastated myself.....even a month later. He was a musical genius. Never seeing him perform live will now always be omg of the biggest regrets of my life. RIP dear Tom. You are SO missed.....

Same here. I was a newborn when they broke onto the scene, so the radio growing up was full of this perfect music. I got older, became a musician and held all other performers to the subconscious standards of Tom Petty. Lyrically, so many songs have touched my life. Musically they're just incredible artists as well. There will always be this feeling of profound loss, in which I've never felt for another artist. He's never to be forgotten or replaced.
