This man was a class act he gets a shit load of credit and it's all earned but I honestly believe that he is due even more. One of the greats and it's sad that people truly see what he meant to all diffrent types of music. I don't think he fits in one category, he can be placed in multiple genres and he is in my top 5 artists in each one he is placed in. Just my opinion but what a treasure he was. Rest easy sir rest easy ...

American girl is so damn good it unreal. Like lots of Dylan songs, Petty cranked out a bunch of gems. Aerosmith are outstanding crafters too. Steely Dan ….

If anyone can mimic Dylan's vocals it's Petty. I'd like to believe he remembered the Wilbury's time together when playing this. And of course, RIP Petty, the first musician I've cried over since Bowie.

I Really like this song but I have NEVER heard it performed by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, only by Travelling Wilburys, but Heartbreakers was always a solid, genuine act, this version of course without Bob Dylan but it is nice, solid performance as I indicated above
@AbuKedem5 жыл бұрын
It's without Dylan, but just playing the audio you could fool a lot of people. Tom's doing Bobby here. Almost Steeler's Wheel-level vocal imitation of him.
@Hexon66 Жыл бұрын
@@AbuKedem It sounds nothing like Dylan, in timbre or cadence. If Petty had just used his normal singing voice, it would have sounded significantly closer to the original. He's deliberately changing it in this performance.
