Great video! Quick note: you can’t PLACE enemy pieces in the clearing with the keep, but you can MOVE into that clearing. 6.2.2 in the law of root. But ya nailed all the other stuff and I’m for sure gonna use this to teach friends.

Was going to say the same thing. Question on that though...if I enter the clearing containing the keep can I attack? If the attack exceeds the number of warriors and buildings in that clearing does the keep get destroyed?

@@CallipygianMoose Yes. You can attack and yes, if you do enough damage, they will lose the keep.

I keep thinking that that would be such a fun thing to do! I'm currently in a tricky position.... I"m a school teacher, and the school year just started. And for all of the reasons you can imagine, this year has started out being tougher than most. So my time has really disappeared from me. AND I have a stack of new games that have come in recently.... So, while I'd really love to do that sooner rather than later.... I think it'll be a while before I will be able to get around to it....

A couple of things you might want to correct: At 10:14, your example of moving wood around moved it along the river rather than along paths. Can the cats do that? At 14:45 the video and audio cut out for about 20 seconds of silent black screen, swallowing the things you'd explain to other players about your faction.

In a 2 player game cats versus eiry for example when you craft a boot what does that boot give you besides the one victory point that turn? I understand that you place it in the top right corner of your cat board, but what happens to it if there is no vagabond to take it from you? Does it provide any ongoing benefit? Wonderful series, thank you!!!

Typically it doesn’t provide any other benefits, but if you’re playing with the exiles and partisans decks, you can use the league of adventurous mice card to spend items to gain more actions.

what happens if the Cats lose a building? does it go back on their player board? if so, if the player builds that building again, can they score the victory point/other reward again? essentially being able to get points very quickly if they are constantly being destroyed and rebuilding each turn. Thanks to whoever can answer!

Hello , the lost buildings go back to the mat, and you can get points again for re-building. Also note that each time they remove your buildings, someone else is getting a point as well. It is usually never good to lose buildings, but there are some you can afford to lose and be able to score more points by making it again(you have to spend wood as well,as if it was the first time building).

There can be more than one wood at each sawmill after more turns? Can I run out of wood tokens? Sooo many questions when there are 5 sets of rules...Thanks for these videos!

My understanding is that wood just keeps building up and up and up until you use it. And, if I remember correctly, your wood tokens are limited.... but don't quote me on that. I think that for other factions if you need to produce something and you're out of tokens you can take them from a different spot on the board... But.... Gosh, I don't know about wood for this example. And you're welcome! I hope they are semi-useful!

@@TomTeachesGames So far as I can tell, yes, wood stacks until you use it, but you're limited to the wood supply that comes with the game. Law of Root 2.5 Pieces "[...]Pieces are limited by the contents of the game.[...]" 6.4 Birdsong "Place one wood token at each sawmill." (no indication that it matters how much wood is already present) I can't find anything allowing you to move tokens (nor other pieces) when instructed to place something with all of them already on the map.

If you're playing against the Cats, then yes. "The Law of Root", under 3.2.1 - "Whenever you remove an enemy’s building or token, you score one victory point" If you're the Cats, then no. In "The Law of Root", under 4.3 Battle, "Choose another player in the clearing of the battle to be the defender"

Yup! (If I understand the question correctly). You’re just limited to the number of square spaces located on each clearing. But yes, you can have more than one building per clearing.

You can even have multiple of the same type of building in the same clearing, as long as there are slots available
