A couple things I wanted to mention: 1. I'm eagerly waiting for more in-depth videos, particularly around streaming use cases involving audio routing. 2. I hope theres a color blind mode as I'm red-green color blind and I couldn't tell when the monitor icon was red or green. 3, The price is $100 more, but you also save ~$100 by not having to use a lifter. 100% worth it in my book.

Hahaa! Love the vid! Yeah, still here watching (responding to that question after the effects part on pitch) Realizing it's more like an audio interface with built in sound card effects like the V8 soundcard, K1 soundcard, or even has the ability that the Maono lite and Maono Pro has before. (ALL IN ONE) 1st.. You can now connect to a smartphone to use it as a soundcard device for streaming apps via usb-c (a problem I encountered on why the one on the RC 1 can't connect to smartphone.. so maybe it doesn't have that ability) now I can use my xlr mics straight to RC2 then connect to smartphone rather than what I usually do (I connect my mic to RC1 then ouput the headphones port to the Maonocaster in the mic port only so that I could use livestream on my phone (so many headphone speaker output ports on RC 1 which is still amazing btw since you can get to play around with it 4 on top, then 1 on the bottom) plus you also have the ability to output the left and right to speakers. 2nd.. you have the ability to change voices and pitch (though I haven't seen yet if you can make your voice sound like a female.. mostly it is what is usually seen on soundcards, a. High, b. Tiny, c. Low, d. Robot, then options for male and female voices) ...since it also has great preamps and clean output.. there isn't actually a need for the denoiser since I don't hear much of the environment or air noise.. though I think if you want to hear the sounds of the birds chirping or record the car horns or dog barks.. maybe just need to turn up the gain? So far things I haven't seen that may be a great addition is a like a fader for music, sometimes called side chain? I think it has you showed it in your vid.. but not that sure... it's like used in radio stations.. it's when you play music like a dj or radio... then when you talk to the mic the music will lower it's volume then when you stop talking the talking the musics volume will turn up again automatically. [Ok!! Saw it in the comments DUCKING Feature] Hmmm. There is also some frature though not that important. But some Livestreamers use it.. its like a karaoke mode.. where it takes out vocals on songs where there are no instrumental as for the moment so that you can make it like an instrumental you can sing with. 😀 3rd.. love that they changed the input ports to a hybrid combo.. than just an xlr.. though it doesn't have that lock anymore like the previous version.. (I tried to buy an adapter for xlr to 3.5mm or 6.5mm in order to plug an instrument but maybe it's just the one I bought.. but it's noisy or somewhat grounded so I eneded up not using it at all.. (but I did manage to plug my intrument (piano₱ with a cord of 6.5mm to 3 5mm then connect it to the 3.5mm(mobile phone icon) in rodecaster pro 1 and got to record it like that but yeah.. it kinda was not a reg setup. Haha!! But then just used the bluetooth function for my Smartphone. 4th... the great thing abt this all in one setup is that it's really like an all in one and features more advanced than before (you don't need to access the app onto the computer anymore unlike th RC1.. in the RC2 you can customize in right there and then) Ok will continue on watching again. Haha!! Just had to make a quick stop reply on still here watching. 😀
@cjpreyes2 жыл бұрын
Yey! Finished the video! Love the instrument parts. Though that means we can now connect the guitar soundbox too straight up to the RC2 or like an old school type use a mixer.. (I even did try to use bothe the scarlet focusrite to incorporate the instruments and connect the RC to focusrite since I'm not sure it can do vice versa but yeah.. there was delay issues I do hope they still get firmware updates an included a reverb to the RC1. They had it as a beta version before.. did actually removed the latest update and gone with their old beta update with the reverb. And it works amazing! Especially if we had to record for singing... but ofcourse since its an old beta version... it had alot of features not accessible.. plus I don't think when plugged to the computer you can hear the reverb effect (I'm bot that sure anymore since I never used it again like that but just used the maono) Anyways!! This really is amazing! Haven't used my RC1 for literally months due to work.. maybe would sell it and some of my soundcards and just but this one for a minimal setup.. or just what you said.. it's still great... and maybe I don't need the new one since I do get to use only some features from it.. I haven't even scratched the surface of the 1st gen yet.. but I do have a messy and complicated setup since its not an all in one type of gear unlike the gen 2. Thanks alot Tom.. felt like I haven't watched your vids from some time now.. Have to do some catching up again. Continue on what you do great! Positivity and motivation! It helps alot! God bless! 😊🤗👏🏻💯

That’s mostly for those of us using the Monitor as line out into, say, a streaming computer or appliance (instead of using a USB channel to connect). I also think a lot of us will get RCP2 and keep RCP1 as a sub mixer for additional channels into RCP2.

@@joshuadelaughter I already have a focusrite so nice question! For me it’s just the versatility of the system. I like the notion of being able to record a without a computer on a very substantial desk. The Zoom H6 is great but sometimes you want more granular controls. Most 4input interfaces have only 2 headphone outputs and this has 4 which is pretty nice. The smart control pads are great and I can’t wait to play around and see what shortcuts I can create within Logic and Ableton. I do podcasts which is why I’m excited for this. The rodecastr pro 1 was great. But personally I couldn’t justify the price when the pre-amps weren’t good and also it only took XLR. When I buy gear, I want it to be able to do as much as possible and maximise my usage out of it. That’s why this Rodecastr Pro 2 is something I’ll be getting since I won’t be having it as “simply my podcast machine” but rather my hub for everything. Thanks for asking!

Holy shit! I'm so excited for this. My Rodecaster Pro has gotten a lot of non-pro use but I run a lot of D&D online and it allows me to have a lot of control of audio. Being able to hook up two computers and backchannel certain audio from each one WOULD BE AMAZING. It would solve so many problems. Not to mention the voice editing LIVE. HOLY SHIT. Ahhhhh.

Hi Tom, I really enjoy your content. I know it is a lot of work to make these detailed videos and make it look so clean and professional…great job. I made the difficult decision to sell about 6K worth of outboard studio gear (including a relatively new RME Babyface FS2 Pro and Manley Core Channel Strip)…I replaced all of it with the Rodecaster Pro2! It just seemed to make sense in this new age of content creation. I hate to admit that event with experience and hours of dialing in all that outboard gear, the Rodecaster Pro 2 makes event low cost mics sound very professional and polished. I am primarily a voice over professional, audio and video producer and agency creative director so it works well for all my studio needs and its easier and cleaner to work with. I bought the Rodecaster Pro original 3 years ago and love it…we host and produce weekly radio shows for iHeart radio with it and get compliments all the time about he sound. And I am only using those Rode Podcast mics you were using in your video (no offense to Rode…LOL, but they are just $99 dollar mics)…they still sound great through the Rodecaster. Anyway…keep up the good work and I will keep on the lookout for more content from you.

Thanks for the kind words Tom! I'm impressed that the RCP2 was able to replace all that gear. I agree that it does bring up some mixed feelings: on one hand I'm proud of skills and knowledge I've spent time building and seeing that replaced by an out-of-the-box-ready solution feels a but strange, but on the other hand it's a much better workflow and opens up a ton of possibilities for people! I've yet to find a mic that doesn't sound great on the RCP2 👍 (err...ignore that NW800 over there...)

This is s a fantastic walk-through! I think they've changed enough for me to purchase the Rodecaster Pro 2, I like so much about it, the default settings idea, the multiple record options, mic settings and so on. It means I can move on from my Soundcraft MK12, which has been a great mixer, and possibly the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, if I can rejig my set-up... not sure though that it'll replace my DBX286s, 215s and 166xs, time will tell - but I think I'm getting one! Oh and love the instrument settings! Thanks for the video, Tom.
