Thanks for sharing what you went through. It gives validity to know you understand the struggle of the pain and not just jumping into push-ups or hanging.

I think this is exactly my issue. I had a partially torn supraspinatus, it was agony. Tried loads of exercises but nothing worked. Only thing that actually helped was injections. I still get a twinge if I raise my arm overhead and my shoulder is so weak now I struggle to press 6kgs overhead. Need to sort out my back posture so that the rotator cuff exercises have a chance of actually working. Up to now they simply have not worked and now I know why. Tom you are actually the 1st person I've seen who has said to sort out upper back and shoulder posture before trying to fix a rotator cuff issue, no-one else has told me to do this, they just give you the usual exercises to do. I can just about do them but I feel the pain of impingement every time so obviously something isn't right. If you have poor upper back posture, rounded shoulders etc there simply isn't enough room in the shoulder joint to allow those movements to work without getting pinching. I guess I have to open up the joint to create room before I try to fix the supraspinatus issue, does that sound about right? It's been 8 years btw since I damaged that supraspinatus tendon, it's taken ages to heal to this level but it's definitely not fixed properly yet
@TomMorrison15 күн бұрын
Absolutely yes, it’s frightening how often I meet people in your position, get yourself stuck into upper back rotations and pulling exercises daily and then full range joint stuff and band work and you’ll be shocked at how much improvement you can make in a few months! And it will actually stick too!

I have a Lotta. Good luck with your exercises. You need to try the one where you lay on your back and when you stretch your arms and move them around in different directions, you find out where the pool is in your shoulder or if it’s in some of your bicep.

@@TomMorrison my shoulders have been getting heaps better over the past year of just working light weights. But to be honest, it’s sleeping that screws them up for me.
