Reading the books, I've actually come to enjoy all the extra exposition, ESPECIALLY the villain's backstory. Wish they kept in just a tad more

This is brilliantly edited! Great work on restoring a fun scene to its originally intended form 🙌 But the outrageous bumpiness of that Daimler’s crap suspension is actually weirdly stressful and I found it so frustrating trying to watch all of the actors fail to put a glass anywhere near their faces in this speedy briefing 😂

The Brotherhood of MI6 is fantastic 😂❤ M is the stern/sarcastic Mother. Bond is the handsome troublemaker. Moneypenny is the nosy Sister & Charles is the level headed older brother

This was a good re-edit, though I personally would've kept Pierce's ad-lib: "Smooth ride, M." at the end.

Why this was chopped down i dont know. It adds so much context to the character and understanding.
@GusMcGuire2 жыл бұрын
It was probably chopped down because much of the information would either have been considered irrelevent to the story or could be communicated more efficiently elsewhere in the movie. I also think that the rather unweildy use of the whisky tumblers made the characters look uncharacteristically clumsy and uncomfortable. Note how Brosnan has to steady his glass as the car takes a corner at speed.
@m3gAnac0nda2 жыл бұрын
@@GusMcGuire not to mention the idea of 007 being in an official vehicle accompagnied by a motorcade is pretty ridiculous... They also did that with a Moore movie I believe

As if it EVER MADE SENSE to delete ANY SCENE with Judi Dench in it, and while I didn't think he should play James Bond as suggested as he kept appearing, more Colin Salmon never hurt anything either. Judi Dench's M has more balls than 1/2 the men who played the character on top of it, sad she left and got replaced with castrated Ralph Fiennes (as if he couldn't nail the role with a good script, and he acted less weak in his pre-role for it in Skyfall). Anyways thanks for the restoration work, seeing more from this film both in the context of plot relevancy to today more than the 90's, and it being more well rounded with stuff they deleted makes really wish there was a director's cut. An extended edition of Quantum of Solace as well (not D-cut because the director was the reason it was too short and even seems like 10 minutes just go missing at some point).

This could have been a fantastic film if they removed the romance part and the nuke.
@trueblue62012 жыл бұрын
I don't think the romance was particularly bad (there certainly have been worst romances in 007 films). The nuke also fit into the escalation Carver was going for and does make sense as way for General Chang to sieze power by wiping out the rest of the top brass.
