The wife has gone out with our 5 year old. Young un is dressed up as Alice Cooper. I'm hiding away in my detached garage lock up/man cave/entertainment centre. The house lights are turned off. I have left the "treats" on the front doorstep, but I have rigged them up as IED's with 30 second delay fuses. Wouldn't want to blow off my front door now, would I?

Hi tom, I've been self employed for 4 months now, I'm flat out and busy. But a opportunity has came up of a plumbing job with the NHS, so I applied for it and I got it! It's mainly the security factor and pension plus these jobs are like hens teeth. Being self employed isn't what everyone thinks it to be.. I'm only 34 years old and I am gas safe and oftec and I do bathrooms too. But I find customers don't have money and plumbing materials are so expensive and I see future years it's going to get tougher! But I can still do homers for extra coin. I would be intrested on your thoughts and what would you do if you were me?

Self employment is hard Mack because no one realizes the hours you do, people see you in their house for 4 hours and think, " he charged a lot for 4 hours" they dont see, the planning,the running about for stuff, the phone calls, balancing the work between other work, Its a 24/7 job with lots of pressure, So getting a permanent job with regular hours, holidays,sick benefit and pension is a much easier life and you can budget your life round it, Go for it mate, It makes sense in the long term,
