This is the opening third of the British Rail route training video no. 236 - Tonbridge to Hastings. It covers the journey from Tonbridge to Etchingham via Tunbridge Wells, Frant and Wadhurst.

I remember these days , jaffa cake livery 4 ceps, newly refurbished too. I got a cab on one of the last Hastings units up to charing Cross and back in about April 1985 ish just b4 electrification . I live in Hastings now and use this line often . Now electrostars 375 s .-bud the painter-

And the old oil tanker siding beside the up line . I remember the oil trains trundling into there with an ED 73 in charge .

Hiya, was this video filmed in the 1980s? It looks as if it was filmed a long time ago as there are slam door trains. I love looking at these.

Network South East dreadful train and station liveries. Bring back the proper c1950s British Railways (Southern Region) livery for both trains and stations. Good video of Tonbridge to Costa Del Hastings Line.
