I just tuned in to the Election Debate and was bitterly disappointed. I was expecting this but was instead bored beyond belief. The unseen hands in the Labour faction seem to have said to Julia that they will give her support but only if she says and acts exactly what and how she is told. I don't like the new Julia, but the thought of Abbott as PM absolutely terrifies me. Vote Greens!

@aubhar If you dont tax the mining, you get heaps of short term jobs, then when the resources dry up, we have nothing. The overseas companies get 90 percent of the profits from our non-renewable resources. As over-seas deposits dry up, our coal/uranium will only increase in value as it becomes more rare.

@McKings11 - prior to getting my $900 stimulus payment I was living in a regional area of high unemployment and was unemployed...an attempt to relocate and find work in Melbourne was fruitless..unaffordable accomodation and lack of it didn't help..by taking the cash, heading overseas and gain employment I got myself off the 'dole' and saved taxpayer's money for the following 12 months...would you prefer I had done that or buy a 'plasma', a dozen cartons of beer and live the easy life?

Its pretty obvious that Tony Abbott will try his best to make Labor look terrible in parliment over the next year so I hope they can still stay friends and congrats to Julia for becoming Primeminister as well as being Australia's first female Primeminister elect. Another historic moment in Australia's history.

He was actually told to tone down the flirting. Today I heard in an interview that Abbott was told to stop flirting with Gillard all together because now she's the PM and his complete opposition. On another note - this video was mentioned on Sunrise by the announcers lol
@SauronsEye14 жыл бұрын
This was quite good. Julia was genuinely embarrassed at times, lycra pants and getting them off or some such comment. The question, "Do they have thing for each other?".........wouldn't that make a head line, "Gillard and Abbott in bed together, literally".

@patellaman14 жыл бұрын
You build a surplus to protect the country from recession, taking out massive loans only moves the country backwards. Now Australia is in a much worse state, now what happens when another financial crisis hits before labor's debt is repaid??? More poor people getting poorer!

“Israelis like to believe, and tell the world, that they are running an ‘enlightened’ or ‘benign’ occupation, qualitatively different from other military occupations the world has seen. The truth was radically different. Like all occupations, Israel’s was founded on brute force, repression and fear, collaboration and treachery, beatings and torture chambers, and daily intimidation, humiliation and manipulation.” Israeli historian, Benny Morris.

terrythekittie, our PM doesn't have to be "a lovely bloke" Leading our beautiful country is serious business. he and the treasurer (he of the annoying smirk )have done a bloody good job, particularly on employment. I have 5 kids and 9 grandchildren all working. our PM is doing his best for all Australians , Krudd will have to repay his union masters.. It really scares me. .anyway that nasty snake, Gillard will stab him in the back at her first opportunity.

@nibblez1222 -It is his and his party's philosophy to re-introduce 'Workchoices' albeit with a few cosmetic changes and a change in name...to appease the bosses and to have workers on their knees...everybody can see that..having Howard alongside only confirms it..now that is real BUDDY!

@777sandyyy 6. You do realise Britain pulled in Australia, US and NZ because of it's alliance? Australia was only involved because it was legally obliged. AND the only reason this battle occurred was because of German/ottoman empire spread into the Middle East, in which they hoped to halt their enemies movements. Regardless of where it occurred Western forces would've fought back.
