In an interview for ABC's special 'Truth and Lies: The Tonya Harding Story,' the former champion figure skater says she overheard her ex-boyfriend and a friend speculating that someone should be "taken out" before the 1994 Winter Olympics.

This is not new information. The FBI said at time, that they knew she had prior knowledge of what happened. She was never an innocent victim. Such a talent she was though. She let jealousy get the better of her. Both skaters paid a price for it too. Nancy didn’t ask for all that and just wanted to be known for her skating. The two will forever be linked now.

There is such a thing as ethics and the moral codes that we should follow. Despite her background she should have "stepped up" and said something because once the guys were caught - it looked bad for her. Sorry.. but you must do the right thing. Even if you suspect someone getting harmed.

I liked the movie; very telling. I'm still undecided as to what I think Tonya's role might have been in the attack, but the movie really shows the challenges Tonya faced in her life and how that impacted her. Childhood trauma has a significant affect on people and should always be taken into account when analyzing a situation. Tonya lived a desperate life due to an enormous amount of abuse by her mother and husband. That's all she knew. This needs to be understood by the public who has felt at liberty to judge her. Tonya is a fighter and overcame far more than many of the other skaters did. And she was the best skater in the world in respect to athleticism - still no one has beat her record of difficult jumps. Kudos to her for all she accomplished. No one can take that away from her.

I would say Midori Ito from her own era had better jumps. She landed the triple axel at least 10 or 15 times, probably more... Tonya landed it a handful of times and missed it far more than Midori did

Whether she was or not, she paid a high price. It was over 20 years ago and lucky Nancy did not get hurt badly. She deserves a second chance. Had her mom not kicked her out and she fell into a crap crowd, if someone turned her mother in for abuse, if the Princeton Documentary Skates edge been allowed to be shown....she may have gotten support not constantly being made fun of because she was not dainty but athletic and poor. What she did is horrible, no matter what part she played, but she lost everything and it was over 20 years ago. Let her enjoy her life and her accomplishments, she paid the ultimate price by being banned from the sport she loved. How long do we have to punish someone, especially since she was young and lived in a horrible environment. Many people watched her being abused and not one helped, that is sad. Why? Their reasons were they did not want to ruin her career. Well she was a child and you are now partly responsible. An asswipe of a mom hits her child and your turn the other way? Disturbing.

This is so sad! Tonya has created her own story so she can live with herself.....and, get sympathy from the public.........Tonya has gone years denying any involvement, now changes her story to just overhearing a conversation beforehand.......that is suppose to make her innocent, I guess...... I'm sorry, but if you hear a conversation about taking down your opponent, and you do nothing, go right out and skate anyway.....and, knowing that opponent must be Nancy...... Tonya knew those guys were up to something..... it is far from innocence! Also, what about the phone calls done by Harding to find out Nancy's practice schedule; there is proof of that. OMG! I cannot even stomach to view this movie! She did not pay a high price; she paid for her actions. If one cannot compete fairly, one does not deserve to be allowed to compete. I am sorry for Tonya's hard upbringing and do applaud her strength to overcome that...a victim in her upbringing; however, not a victim in this crime.

Tonya Harding was fully innocent. IF you get off your duffs and get reading, Tonya's husband was highly volatile, threatening/abusive/manipulative , she had to get a restraining order on him BEFORE this kerrigan incident. but still, Tonya should NOT have been given the harsh sentence and her hard work stolen from her, her wins, her accomplishments, her dreams, her future, so shame on the prosecuters, the U.S . Figure Skating ASSociation, and all those who gave her more abuse, more hard times, it is still continuing today , 20+ years later, let the lady live her life in peace for God's Sake!!! Tonya should not have been banned from skating, she was threatened, her X was a mooch, and he is the mastermind behind it all. Jeff (Stone) as he changed his name. Tonya should get a Presidential pardon and have her wins RESTORED to her. fan on Tonya.
