When I grew up in West Texas (where the dryness makes it a great place to farm cotton), the cotton mills would sell cotton seed meal to farmers (for chicken feed, cattle feed, ...). When fishing with my dad, we chummed the water with cotton seed meal. Therefore, I wonder if the pigs are going after the cotton seeds.

As a 19 year retired Animal Control Officer. I like your style of doing this nuisance control. When people ask why I do nuisance control. I give them an example that they can really relate to. Well it’s like this “you got a huge pimple. It’s festering up real sore. You squeeze it and all the nasty puss erupts out. Then you clean up the mess and it feels and looks good again.” End of the why questions.

You know what you need is the tailgate lift on that track. Then you can pull your pig onto the lift when it's down push a button and it gets it up to the same same level as the bed of the back of the truck. This would save you an awful lot of lifting, when you collect your pigs, they've been in the trap. Scrap and pallet man on KZbin has one on his truck for collecting lawnmowers, tractors, stoves, hot water tanks that sort of thing to take to the junkyard. Check him out if you think it might be something you could use. Just an idea, but it would make life a lot easier for you. Thanks for sharing your efforts. It is interesting to us cityfolk! 😂❤

Hello David, would like to echo some of those other comments, such a hard working man you are taking care of all those pesky hogs. One question, I know it’s hard at times to provide hogs to feed the families; have you ever considered keeping the hogs you catch to transport them live to a local processor? Or sell the meat for those families to come buy or share the meat locally, ship the meat as an order??? Just thinking or suggesting a means to expand and share the meat in other ways to not have to just bump or feed the buzzards :)
@DavidEllisYawtYawt3 ай бұрын
It’s illegal to transport live hogs. Also. Processing plants here don’t take wild hogs during the summer. All we have are deer processing and they are closed this time of year. Then you have to worry over if someone is going to pay the bill. If I drop them off. I’m liable.
@jimogden94003 ай бұрын
@@DavidEllisYawtYawt thanks, that makes since. I’m in Texas and we have programs that do this where the meat is processed and can sell wild “pork” only if processed/ sold “live”.

I paused the video and counted at least 12. That was one heck of a catch YawtYawt. Looking at the footage of you getting the little ones there were 10 of those and 5 adults, so if you add the 2 boars, the 8 at the beginning of the video, you have 25 that were caught and about 35 total in the video including those that weren't caught yet. You are overwhelmed by those hogs down there. Good night! I'm in the mountains of Colorado and we don't have them here YET and that is a key word...YET. Canada has them and the weather is far worse there than here. It'll at least give the mountain lions something to snack on.
